COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A big, Belgian-style Wit brewed with coriander and orange peel and fermented with Pinot Noir juice. After fermentation a fraction of the batch is aged in Oregon Pinot Noir barrels, and another fraction is aged on oak staves. The beer is blended together before packaging. This has been one of our most popular Limited Edition beers at both our Rehoboth Beach, DE brewpub and at festivals. It successfully marries the refreshing citrusy qualities of a Belgian-style white beer with the robust complexity of a bold red wine.

Bottled in Jan 2012. Nose is spicy coriander, bubble gum, rose, tangerine, Orange, pepper with warming alcohol. First sips lead to alcohol notes, followed by oat, wheat and spicy coriander. Orange sits in the finish balancing the whole act. Medium full mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Warming. Winner, drink fresh even with heat from abv.

This is a good beer. The moscato grapes its brewed with add a nice flavor thats reminiscent of wine (as it should be), but it still tastes more like a beer. Its a solid effort from a great brewery.

750 ml bottle. Pours a murky Amber orange color topped by a large long lasting rocky beige head. Wonderful clinging lace. Unique aroma is comprised of yeasty, sulphury vinous notes and orange peel. First sip has traditional Belgian Witbier character. Notes of coriander and orange peel mix with dough and hay. Then, sweet fruity, yeasty integration and tart grape affluence. The flavors meld wonderfully as if they were always meant to be together. The beer improves as it warms, with the 10% ABV remaining well disguised in the complex flavors. The is a hint of oakiness in the finish, though the character is somewhat subdued. Overall, a real adventurous brew, one you come to expect from the folks at Dogfish Head.

Uber, Seattle. Thin cream, lacing. Pretty clear, orange brown. Rich aroma, Belgian yeast and tripel territory weight. Hints of dark grape must. Rich but fairly bright body, weight and alcohol are present at the end. A bit sweet around the edges. Some herb-spice sharpness. Barrel note is faint but present. Nice.

Copper color, hazy, with a foamy white head. Belgian yeast aroma, with fruity notes. Sweet, fruity flavor, distinct grape flavor in the finish. Nice one...Whitney likes it too.

Bottle in 2011, Pours copper color with small sized head. Notes of booze, sugar booze, welshes grape juice, oak, coriander and malt. Really unbalanced with way too much heat and sweetness from the excessive malting they did. Why wont they make any clean hoppy beers?
