3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tasted on 6/12/14 from a capped 750mL bottle purchased at Bangor Wine and Cheese. Pours clear, bright copper, with a thick white head that slowly recedes to average lace, leaving residue along the inside of the glass. The nose is very interesting with a nice bread malt aroma, some traditional resin hoppiness, and the earthy wasabi. The flavor is a bit more wasabi dominated, with all of the traditional bread malt and hops still present. It has the same dusty wasabi from the dried wasabi peas I’ve had. The body is nearly full with average carbonation and a long hoppy wasabi finish.
Liked this. Distinctly unique. Aromas was herbal and spicy. Nice rose color with a good head. Full bodied with good carbonation. Similar to an IPA with a peppery sense and slight bit of heat on the back end. egajdzis (6626) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 19, 2016
Murky reddish color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark fruits, grass, toffee, herbal, and some oxidation. Taste of dark fruits, cardboard, herbal wasabi, dry finish. tfontana (1016) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 21, 2016
Bottle pour into pint glass from Cigarette City. Aroma is malty bread base with sweet, almost tropical, fruit and musty smell. Appearance is cloudy light brown/orange with dark floaters, nice sparkle, finger-width off-white foamy head with nice retention and light lacing. Taste is the sweet fruit and malt base as in aroma with mild alcohol taste and late spiciness. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with soft to average carbonation, with sweet and spicy finish. Overall, this was unintentionally aged--2 years--which may not have been the best thing for it. Still good and some novelty with the wasabi but this was probably not at its best. Pours a murky dark auburn with definite hoppy notes on the aroma. No wasabi in the aroma and very little on initial sips but definitely build up over the session. Wasabi does add a little more depth of bitterness with something I can't quite figure out. Interesting beer but nothing is buy for myself.

Pours a hazy reddish brown. Aromas of hops, caramel malts, kind of medicinal. Flavor is to strong for me, big hop taste, malty with a funky yeasty taste.

Overall - really interesting beer. allmyvinyl (10723) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 11, 2016
Bottle from Craigs, dregs run, shared with AshtonMcCobb. Pours murky brown with a thin white head. Aromas of sweet caramel, faint wasabi tingle, light citrus. Taste is creamy, light spice, more caramel. A steady hand with the wasabi, gentle tingle finish. GlasgowTAD (1847) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - MAR 6, 2016
