UPDATED: APR 16, 2006 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Dogfish Head may best be known for it’s "extreme" beers, but fortunately they also make more accessible beers like this Pale Ale, which they call their flagship. Beautiful orangey golden, unfiltered with a small, dense head. Very soft, malty character with a nutty touch and a bit of sweetness. Has the typical fruity ale character, and even though the hops are prominent, they don’t bite as hard as in an IPA. and 280306 omhper (24963) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JAN 21, 2002

Draft in Gaithersburg. Hazy golden color, small white head, decent lacing. Aroma of citrus, hay, white pepper. Taste starts with decent hoppy bitterness then peters out toward the finish. fiulijn (20411) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 16, 2008

Hazy amber color. I didn’t expect such a poor, common beer by DFH, with paper aroma nad dry mouthfeel, and astringent.
Bottle. Golden/amber color, creamy offwhite head. Soapy hoppy aroma, some perfume, some vegetables. Malty flavor, some fruits, some hops. Oakes (17274) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 18, 2001
Well-balanced session ale. It’s hard to wrap your head around the fact that there aren’t caramelized rose petals, sandalwood oils, hickory-smoked ostrich eggs or some other bizarre stuff in here. Imagine, a normal-tasting beer from DFH. jtclockwork (16436) - , New Jersey, USA - MAY 14, 2010
Pours a dark orange in the glass. Nose is floral. Taste is nice hop and malt balance. Some nuts. Rated 3/22/2000 bhensonb (15083) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 7, 2008
Medium amber color with a slight white head. Aroma is cat p---, citrus - must be Columbus - . Medium body with near creamy carbonation. Flavor is all hop. Could be a little bread in there. It finishes bitter - not like a DIPA, but really bitter. It’s a great APA. Could drink this all day. Tmoney99 (14365) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 6, 2006
Bottle. Poured deep amber with an average frothy white head that lasted and produced good lacing. Average hoppy sweet aroma. Medium body. Light sweet and moderate bitter flavor with an average finish. Average brew from an above average brewer.
