Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of hops and spices. The flavor is sweet and spice - lavender being in the mix, combined with light notes of caramel, leading to a dry and slightly bitter finish. The alcohol leaves a slight burn in the mouth. Unique. On draught at Birreria Paradiso. No aroma. Light body, taste of bittersweet chocolate, with a malty finish. The chillies come in at the very end. Fascinating. madmitch76 (26850) - , Essex, ENGLAND - FEB 13, 2010
8th November 2008. Cloudy amber beer. Soft creamy malt. Subtle chocolate tone that becomes more obvious towards the finish. Something sweet and aromatic going on (annato?) The chillis are a warming prescense during the late finish but not overdone at all. Typical Dogfish beer really - that is to say unlike anything I’ve tasted before! oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUL 1, 2011
Bottled. Amber colour, small head. Aroma is toffee, as well as some sweet maltyness as well as mild chocolate and mild bitterness. Flavour is toffee, some honey, mild berries and some mild wooden notes. Also some mild chocolaty notes. Balanced, but actually quite thin palate for being 9 %.
