Old note. Bottled, small sample. The aroma has cardamom, bit biscuits, booze. Bit hazy, golden coloured beer with a small, white head. The taste is light bitter, has malt sweetness, oranges, spice, booze. Medium-full bodied beer. All together rather nice. JPDIPSO (6286) - Wauwatosa, USA - AUG 21, 2016
Average sized creamy, off-white head, mostly diminishing with little lace. Lightly hazed honey colored liquid. Aromas are lightly malty with honey and snickerdoodle cookies. Some floral hops along with lemon and cardamom. Lightly yeast dough. Some oak, lavender and coriander in the background. Fairly light in feel, with creamy to syrupy texture. Moderately sweet throughout with a wheat finish. A bit of alcohol in the finish. A nice triple with a hint of oak and spice. 3/11

750 ml bottle from notes (though I popped a bottle today to compare). Pours a clear golden color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have big spicy cardamom from the beginning that doesn’t let up at all, oak, sweet malts, brandy, fruity, but the cardamom doesn’t let you forget that it is there. The bottle that I just opened is pretty much the same; actually this has held up pretty well. Not my favorite by any means from either of these breweries, but interesting to see how it has held up. slowrunner77 (12804) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 1, 2014
a nice beer from DFH and FFF. the alcohol is well hidden at 9.5%, the body tingly and medium to full. this golden ale smells of sweet malt, lots of spice (cardamom, which is fairly aggressive) and a hint of brandy and oak. the barreled portion comes through a little in the flavor, but this is a spiced ale first. Given high expectations for these two brewers, this was not a standout, but a pretty nice brew."

Bottle during Late Nights @ RBWG, Asheville. Deep amber pour with a small head. Very gunky, yeasty nose. Some lemon and apricot. Unidentified spices. Similar flavors. A bit of sludgy tired lemon and harvest fruits. Some caramel and wood. Full body, oily. Meh.

Poppaskull 750 ml bottle served in a Green Man snifter after the RNWG-2014
Hazy golden color with an irregular appearance. The head was thin and short-lived.
Aroma: heavy cardamon; vague additional spicing; moderate funk; bright fruitiness.
O: Over the top. Two great breweries join forces to produced a weak "by committee" product? DrSilverworm (9672) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 8, 2014
750ml bottle, big thanks to Jay A. for this one! Wow, didn’t even know this existed. Amber orange yellow color. Thin off-white ring of head. Dots and ropes of lace. Some belgian candy sugar, nice orange citrus, light toffee, citrus zest. Some baked apple, light spice aromas. Bigger body. Smooth, soft, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Very nice citrusy zesty belgian strong. Good, nice light amount of spice, and nice ginger type aromas. Glad for the chance to have tried this one. Very interesting. beerbill (3618) - Laurel, New York, USA - DEC 15, 2013
750 ml bottle shared at Dave’s tasting. Pours a hazy golden orange with a linen white head. Pleasant aroma of Belgian yeast and honey. I’m not really picking up the cardamom in the nose. The flavor is Belgian yeast with a bit of honey, malt, and some cardamom. Mild bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied.
