Tweason’ale is a beer we brewed on the cusp of summer. It is a gluten-free sorghum based beer brewed with fresh strawberries from our friends at Fifer Orchards near Dover, Delaware. For the sorghum, we sourced a dark, sweet, syrup with notes of molasses and pit-fruit. We also used a a dark buckwheat honey with a beautiful hay-like, earthy-malty thing that we felt added the final touch to this Tweason’ale recipe.

Appearance: reddish golden color, the head dissolves quickly and the head is not very dense, there is not much lacing on the glass, the color is very appetizing and you can see the carbonation bubbles in the beer which is pleasing Aroma: the first thing I smell is honey, it has a slight fruit aroma but the honey smell is definitely dominant Taste: key notes honey, not very sweet which I expected from a strawberry type beer, can tell it is not a wheat based beer Palette: the flavor comes more at the end of the sip, the taste evolves and develops as the sip is taken Overall: I would prefer a non gluten beer but for gluten free individuals this beer is a great Alternative and is a refreshing light beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle.Pours a glowing bright orange with minimal head of only tiny bubbles. Aroma is fruit and honey sweet. Flavors come together nicely, but a bit sweet for the fall season. I was hoping for a bit more bite or bitterness to even things out. Still yummy.

Smells of fresh strawberries with a touch of malts. Nice Orange color with hues of red. Flavors of syrup and a bit winey, the flavor falls flat and gives you syrup tougue. Not sure the body light but syrupy weird carbonation. This is not my cup of tea. Like dogfish head just this does not apply to me gluten free.

Smell is intense honey and strawberries, a ton of syrup presence, and not my fave. Pour is a still deep orange with semi clarity and a tiny ring of white. taste is oddly sickening honey and strawberry, very slimy or sticky aftertaste. Ugh....

Pours a light amber color. Aromas of caramel, a hint of nut, and some light fruit. Flavor is a sweet roasted taste, I think it could use some more hops. Finishes a bit sweet.

bottle @ Jungle Jims / Cincinnati OH --- Odd aroma of malt and strawberries that are turning bad. Clear dark amber color, white head that drops to a full cover, lace that slides back in. Taste is strawberry that moves without incident through the swallow to a finish that is mostly fruit centered. Both malt and hops are hard to discern. All works okay, I suppose, but it doesn’t seem enough like a beer to receive more than a cursory glance.

Poured into a perfect pint. 2.5 A: Clear light orange color. Fizzy white head falls as soon as it forms. 3.25 S: Smells more like a wine cooler than a beer. Strawberry and honey take me back to highschool sneaking whatever girly drinks we could find in our friends’ parents’ basements. It doesn’t smell bad though. Indeed, it smells pretty nice. The problem is that it’s in the same way that body lotion smells good. 3.0 T: The strawberry and honey also dominate the taste. This is a good thing considering how wretched most sorghum beers are. I don’t really know what sorghum is supposed to taste like, but from other sorghum beers I’ve had, I can only conclude that it’s garbage steeped in corn water. That said, this doesn’t taste much like a beer. It tastes like strawberry honey water and like I already mentioned, that makes this a good sorghum beer. 2.5 M: Mouthfeel is really weak. It’s a light watery body with moderate carbonation. Not much else to say. 2.75 D: Bad beer, but excellent sorghum beer. If you are a Celiac sufferer, this beer is for you. If you think gluten is the devil, stop being such a douchebag and drink a real beer. ★ 1,172 characters DavoleBomb, Sep 27, 2015

On bottle from Kioskh, Copenhague. Almost clear golden color- some foam and low carbonation. Medium aroma intensity ; a little stable, strawberries and fruitiness AS well AS a litttle cardboard. Medium body & complexity. Ok sourness- light bitterness . Enjoyable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I never thought I’d give a rating this low to a Dogfish Head beer, but here we are. It’s unimpressive in look and smell, but it’s just downright bad in taste and feel. Everything about it is weak and feels cheap, and I just can’t fathom how Dogfish Head’s name is on it. Avoid this beer.
