3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: NOV 21, 2008 This beer poured somewhat thinner than I expected and had absolutely zero head which I was dissapointed with. It was slightly carbonated at first, just enough, and stayed consistant throughout. The aromas of chocolate, raisins, and roasted nuts were quite nice. The flavor was good, but I didn’t think it was as balanced as it could have been. There was an overlying sweetness that I didn’t exactly agree with, as it was actually cloying at times. The flavors though were very complex and delicious otherwise. The alcohol was definitley hidden well, for 18%. A sipping stout for sure.
Poured from 12 fl oz bottle. Black with dissipating tan head. Roast malt with alcohol, mild chocolate and coffee, hint of soy and leather. Booziness doesn't show the full 18%, but it's still noticeable enough that it takes away from the flavour in a significant enough way to lower its rating. Bottled on 11/16. Delicious massive stout, equal parts sweet and roasted and bitter and boozy, oil-thick and ridiculously drinkable for an 18% monster. Loads of bittersweet chocolate and mocha underlined by a formidable roasted barley backbone, mixing with a surprising Belgian fruitiness--figs, cherries, dates, etc.--and a underlying hop bitterness, piney and strong. Liquor warmth shows up on the fade, but not nearly as present as you'd expect. Big chocolate-java impy stout nose, and the pours pitch black and heavy as hell. Lovely, lovely stout. bonev (957) - POLAND - AUG 31, 2017
Piwo czane nalewa sie bez mala iloscia lekko bezowej piany. 05barnold (44) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 30, 2017
From the tap at the brewery in DE. This beer is fantastic. Aroma of coffee. Flavor of coffee and vanilla. This beer was dangerously smooth and drinkable for the ABV rating. Great beer to end the tour with.

Bottle. Chocolate, roastiness, booze, wet wood in aroma. In taste also prunes and cocoa. Full bodied, softly carbonated, silky smooth but with harsh boozy finish. trapped (3484) - New York, TURKEY - JUL 8, 2017
Draught @ Top Hops. Inky black with small frothy off-white head, aroma of mocha, molasses, oak, and liquor, medium carbonation, sweetish woodsy mocha taste with alcohol undertones, smooth body, long mocha finish. Incredibly well covered alcohol content, so smooth and easy to drink. ffaoe (874) - Moorestown, New Jersey, USA - JUN 24, 2017
strong malty, chocolatly, roasted barley, and faint coffee aromas. pitch black in color with huge long lasting brown head. taste is of rich dark malts, strong chocolate notes, lesser roasted barley and coffee notes. some booziness present. dzudohonor (263) - POLAND - JUN 21, 2017
Luvystypotables (2039) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - JUN 9, 2017
A rich malt and bourbon aroma, pours a dark black color with a thin tan head. A thick full bodied feel, tastes of bourbon and malt with notes of raisins. A boozy bourbon finish.
