A: A very nice looking pour--a crystal clear amber color with a fluffy off-white head on top. S: Not a very intense nose, but a bit of smoke and some sweet toasted malts. A bit of fruitiness to go along with some bread. T: The smokiness of the beer really dominates the flavor, and prevents the full enjoyment of it. After the smoke fades, a slight banana/plantain sweetness comes through on the finish. There is a hint of bready malt and some caramel in there as well. M: A medium bodied beer with a moderate level of carbonation. Maybe a bit thin. D: Perhaps a nice idea, and nice of DFH to make this beer for EBF, but not quite what I was hoping for. In any event, Im glad I got to try it.

Pours nice brown with frothy white head. Smells sweet and spicy. Taste rich, nutty, spicy, alcohol taste lingers. Unique aftertaste probably from the pecan/carob/plantain.

Tap during CBC. A nice subtle drinking beer, very dry for a smoked, bit of a nutty finish, some interesting flavors, all subtle, but hard to identify. Didnt really do it for me but I wouldnt turn a pint away.

Thanks to jjfoodie for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a reddish-amber color with a white head. The aroma is lots of orange and other citrus along with caramel malt and pecan smoke. The flavor is quite a bit of smoke with some pecans, oranges and caramel malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
