Milk Stout originated in 19th century Britain as a way to promote a more nutrious beer to help energize workers throughout the day. Those claims were dubious, but it resulted in a unique, new style. Galáxia is a rich and creamy beer, with chocolate, coffee and caramel flavors from the roasted malts. This stout has a slightly sweet finish from the addition of milk sugar.

Bottle. Dark brown, good beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate milk. Flavor is similar, sweet dark malt, bitter chocolate, a bit thin.

DruncanVeasey (8603) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JAN 15, 2018
Bottle, October 2016. More rich, sensuous, contemplative beer from my new favourite brewery. Tarry pour, reflective and inky with a cratered beige foam going nowhere. Oily Royal Belgian mouthfeel and complex leathery dried fruit, fig, pepper, molasses, mocha and bitter chocolate aspects belonging to a considerably more potent beast. One if those beers that has you repeatedly double taking at the ABV. Aroma of bitter chocolate, dark cherry and plum fruit; molasses, burnt cinder toffee and Everton mint. Seriously packed with depth and drinkability. Brilliant stout.

Bottle from my father, bought in Portugal. Dark malty and light phenolic smell. Similar taste, roasted and toasted. Spritsy mouthfeel and high carbonation. I usually love milk stouts due to their well rounded taste, but this one was quite rough.
