Pours black color with a light brown head. I was hoping for more coffee aroma but there isn’t much of one. Slight roasted malt aroma with caramel malts. Flavor is also sweet with chocolate, molasses, and not much coffee.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of chocolate malt and toffee. Appearance is stout black with lacing. Tasting mocha, cocoa, licorice, malt, caramel. The 9% is well hidden. Palate is slightly thin for an imperial but ok. Overall, quite enjoyable. Not too intense.

Nice espresso cocoa aroma that hits the tongue with a sight bitterness that is quickly masked by the espresso and chocolate notes along with some malty sweetness. I also like that the bitterness stays on the palate but is mixed with the complexity of the espresso. It's like it's enjoyably noticeable but tamed by the crowd. Has a slight dryness on the feel. This is pretty good though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours from bottle deep rich brown, slight hint of ruby, with medium mocha head that leaves a bit of skim. Rise-and-shine aroma of coffee, roast malt, nuts. Palate is coffee, a bit harsh initially, but soon moderated by dark chocolate, a fizzy cola note and a bit of creaminess. Seems like a pick-me-up, though the 9 percent ABV would soon put an end to that. But very tasty for a glass or two.
