This beer is amazing. I had it on tap and from a bottle. More carbonation in the bottle. On tap it has a creaminess that is extremely satisfying. gdubu493 (60) - New Jersey, USA - APR 26, 2015

Appearance: Black body with a creamy brown head that has excellent retention.
Aroma: Strong earthy coffee with hints of cocoa. Coffee is the star here.
Taste: Coffee overlies a cocoa and caramel base, like a caramel cappuccino. Excellent.
Palate: Medium to thick bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Excellent coffee stout, certainly coffee heavy, but the subtle undertones make this.
This beer is better than I expected. It is as good out of a bottle as it is from a keg.

It is quite delicious especially at room temperature. Pours dark coffee black with a creamy beige head. Aroma is fresh brewed roasted coffee and malts so pleasant in the nose with a big sweet component, almost berry and chocolate. Body is a bit lighter but lighter than expected but that doesn’t take away from the beer at all. Flavor is similar to aroma, chocolate malts and smooth lightly bitter roasted flavors that settle nicely. Travlr (24745) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JAN 15, 2013
Draft. Very dark maroon, thick brown head, solid lacing. Aroma of burnt espresso and dark cocoa. Taste is very roasty and rich bittersweet chocolate. HeadyDE (842) - Delaware, USA - AUG 16, 2013
Caramel black color from 12 oz bottle..little head as expected..nose is good with definite coffee, vanilla..dark malt..chocolate..mouthfeel is much smoother than anticipated..quite good with great masking of the abv yet remaining complex..almost milkshake like as stated in philly beer scene mag..very surprised by almost everything about this..nose..mouthfeel and smoothness in particular..a solid stout that pairs very well with breakfast..clearly one of the better offerings from this outfit..pleasantly surprised.. metalhead0043 (207) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - SEP 12, 2013
12 oz bottle courtesy of a co-worker. Thanks Ian! Pours a jet black with a tan-colored head. Looks nice. Aroma is definitely espresso, a little chocolate and slight spice or pepper too. Interesting. Taste is similar with a burnt coffee/bitter lasting finish. Body is slightly thicker than medium, texture is a bit thick and creamy. Average carbonation. A great beer to have after a hard day. This bottle was chilled from room temp a couple of times so I am definitely interested in having one fresh. This one’s from April. Ratman197 (14830) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JAN 9, 2014
Bomber poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of espresso, roasted malt, earthiness and a hint of licorice. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of espresso, licorice, roasted malt, bakers cocoa and light fruitiness with a smooth dry lingering espresso finish.
