Octoberfest’s decidedly malty flavor comes from a generous portion of Vienna Malts. The maltiness is balanced by German and Czech Republic noble hops for dryness. The balance between the malt and the hops and the long, cold (30 degrees F) maturation process make this an exceptionally drinkable beer.

Bricks' rating

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 9/20
Bricks (1140) - Delaware, USA - AUG 11, 2012
Good coppery amber appearance with a solid head and carbonation bubbles. A hint of floral and sweet malt on the nose. Basic taste of malt and grasses, nothing to write home about. Palate is a little thin, with a slightly bitter aftertaste with above average fizz. Overall, a fairly decent Marzen, but not the best I’ve ever had.

Hoser (387) - Cowtown, Alberta, CANADA - APR 8, 2017
Not sure what is happening with this sight my ratings of the MJ 500 keep disappearing. Had this at a GABF years ago.

ebone1988 (2040) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - FEB 13, 2017
Aroma is sweet, caramel, corn, malt, basic. Appearance is orange rust, light tan, somewhat hazy. Taste is bready, corn, sweet, malt, slightly bitter, mediocre. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light crisp carbonation, sweet bitter malt aftertaste. Overall, it’s pretty basic for the style, nothing stands out.

Bottle. Honey and sweet. Caramal notes. Pleasant beer on a crisp autumn day.

N3lson1 (1005) - Long Valley, New Jersey, USA - DEC 24, 2015
Drank from a pint glass poured from a twelve ounce bottle. Pours a nice light brown/amber color with a bit of white head. An okay Oktoberfest.

gripweed57 (2737) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - DEC 11, 2015
12 ounce bottle. 5.5% ABV. Amber orange with a small creamy beige head. Slightly grainy nose has some caramel. Flavor has more caramel malt with sweet notes. Nice spicy hops with grassy notes. Well balanced and smooth.

nybol (2281) - DENMARK - NOV 17, 2015
Fin ældre. God smag fra maltene og en hel del humle også, dog ikke så meget det tager over.

bigbish (713) - California, USA - SEP 27, 2015
A very nice malty fest beer. Nice touch of sweet flavor, slight hops on the finish. Nice easy beer to drink by the liter.

altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - SEP 6, 2015
Bottle from Chevy Chase Supermarket. Bold amber body with slight head. Nose is malts, caramel, sweetness, honey. Taste is hoppy up front with maltier roastier finish. Bit of dark chocolate towards the end. Nice one.

OnTheTrail (545) - Virginia, USA - SEP 6, 2015
Pours copper. Aroma bread, toast, nice rich lager. Taste is a mix of sift grain notes, with spicy hops. maybe a little floral, earthy.

HippieFee (465) - - FEB 14, 2015
Bottle - Sweet malt flavor. Has a slight bitterness after taste, has a weird "water" taste as well. Don’t much care for the flavor profile on this beer.
