amber pour ... sour musty aroma .... tastes 10x better than it smells... nice bitter hop pine citrus smart with a smooth middle and a crisp bitter finish .... I had to go back to check the aroma ... some of the original skunk disappeared, but not all of it ... good tasting beer, but I was thrown off by the aroma .... went back for the 3rd time ... now aroma is fine .. classic IPA, citrus and pine resin ... overall nice hop and malt balance .... I’m staying local to the brewery, I have to stop by and and see if they have it on draft epf33 (228) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - FEB 23, 2008
tap, reddish in color, pearly white head, aroma is floral, a very delectable pale ale. Derek881 (1272) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 13, 2008
Poured from the bottle into a tall glass. A cloudy, dark amber color with a creamy, off-white head that had good retention and cling. The aroma featured a rich, floral hop scent and caramel malt. Flavor was an interesting balance of sweetness and bitterness, and well comprised. A very good mouthfeel, with a creamy, wet and full body and moderate carbonation. Overall a high quality beer with good character and definition. theshocker (329) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - JAN 8, 2008
Nice lite copper color, Small head. Floral aroma, light but pleasant. Bitter but balanced enough, with a nice hop flavor. A solid PA fo’ sho’. alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - DEC 23, 2007
On draft at Dulles. Poured a dark orange color with a good sized off white head. Aroma of toffee, citrus and nuts. Flavor was much of the same. Nice palate. Good for the style.

Chestnut and grapefruit aroma in excellent proportions. Hazy ochre color with a thick yellow head. Quite dry and nutty, but not strong and not very good either. It leaves a bitter waxy film that ruins it for me. How can something smell so nice and taste so bad? There must be aromatic additives. Stine (1801) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 16, 2007
Clear, copper hued pour. Weird, slightly pungent aroma. Vinegar, sesame seeds, saltine crackers, cold honey. Hamster cage steam is dominant. Similarly vague dirty hop taste. Crystal, dry honey granola, and mild bitter grapefruit. A swift hint of leafy green tea soaks in briefly before the finish. Crisp and clean at that point. Palate of medium strength; prickly, slippery texture. Foulness is fleeting. Boring and decent. nearbeer (5665) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 1, 2007
355 ml. Clear copper with a medium and lasting head. Aroma is of buttery, slightly soured fruit soaked in beer. Flavor has a similar twang and fruitiness, with big support from toasted nut and dry malted grain flavors. Palate is almost medium-bodied, slightly dry and tingly. I used to get this on tap at Norfolk airport a lot, and always thought the sour taste was just due to high temps on the kegs during transport; I still like the diacetyls and sourish twang. May 2005 - Poured with a coppery color that was slightly almost clear. Small head that dissipated very quickly...which was unimpressive. Not much aroma. On to taste...this really tasted like an IPA rather than just a Pale Ale. Strong flowery hop presence with buttery, almost "chewy tasting" malt backbone. At least it had more going on in there than just hops and water. jcwattsrugger (12559) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - JUL 15, 2007
on tap-pours an offwhite head and copper color. Aroma is citrus hops-some cascade. Taste is citrus hops-some cascade, secondary medium malt. Easy drinking. OK/mild carbonation.
