Picked up single 650ml bomber at the brewery’s special release in Bailey’s Harbor, Wisconsin. Pours a dark semi-clear copper brown colored brew with a decent beige head that slowly dissipates and leaves a spotty lacing. Aroma of light smoked pork jerky, a hint of chocolate, caramel and a touch of maple wood. Taste is medium to medium full bodied, a hint of smoked white birch, chocolate, a hint of maple and light pork jerky. Finish is semi-dry at first with a mild smoked chocolate malt and a hint of spice hops. A wee lighter bodied for an imperial stout but closer to a smoked porter profile.
Tap at Old Fashioned numerous times. Probably a lot easier to enjoy for three dollars a pint than ten a bomber. Amber cornered deep brown-red. Thin, oily off-white head. Really unimpressive for an Imperial beer, comes off very hollow and amateurish. I get s hint of smoked malt, but nto much. In no way an Imperial Stout, there is no roast. Big brown ale, hint of smoke. Not off, but seriously lacking depth. Tastes bockish. OK at best. Pretty insipid stuff. arkurzynski (2456) - Combined Locks, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 15, 2014
Dark brown with khaki head. Big charcoal-y smoke and plastic light notes of roasted malt and dark fruit. Flavor is ashy smoke with light toasted malt and mild roast. Thin. Smoke flavor is a bit over the top, but did mellow a bit with further drinking. illiniphil (148) - Nashotah, Illinois, USA - MAY 24, 2014
22 oz. bomber. Poured a nice motor oil black with a thin white head. Nice smokiness but was disappointed with the stout end of things. Somewhat thin and flat with very little robustness. I was disappointed in this and will not buy again.

Smoke is prevalent, rich and welcoming. Plum, tobacco, alcohol astringency, smoke astringency, nice round fruit and hops. Really good stuff. wlajwl (7003) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - MAR 9, 2014
Aroma is dark fruit, dark malts and light smoky notes. The flavor is smokey malts, dry dark malts, dark fruit/berries and a slightly tangy/alcoholic finish.

One of the better smoked beers I have had. Smoked is hard to work with and real hit or miss, but consider this one an excellent style representation. A great smoked beer to get people interested in smoked ales. crossovert (13724) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 25, 2013
Needs some body. Smoke is nice there are also dark fruits and caramel. Missing some bitterness and cocoa. beerbaaron (1998) - Arizona, USA - NOV 10, 2013
Pours an attractive ruby brown. Medium tan head, lasting with a little lace. Aroma has peat, smoke, touch of coffee and chocolate, some lactose, good character. Medium body. Finish is somewhat dry, some smoke and peat. Flavor is a less dynamic version of the aroma. A mix between smoke beer and a chocolaty stout. A very nice, approachable beer. I liked it more and more as I sipped. MarinEvelyn (854) - Wisconsin, USA - NOV 10, 2013
aroma is very smoky, campfire, a little chocolate, malt.
Tastes a little meaty (bacon), definitely smoky, malty. The taste is good, but almost too strong for me.
