[5216-20130412] 341mL bottle. Slightly smoked woody aroma. Clear, red amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Toasted grainy malt flavour has a light bittersweet finish. Medium body. Interesting, would not have guessed its ABV to be so high. (7/3/6/3/13) 3.2 HeistAlmighty (1156) - Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA - SEP 16, 2013
341ml bottle, aged like 8 or 9 months. Had one before it was aged and it was rough, so I let the other 5 sit in the cellar through 3 seasons. The aging took a lot of the rough edges off, but there is still a bit of an alcohol burn and slightly burnt coffee and burnt sugar taste, but it was much worse fresh. Some dark chocolate and dark cherries come through, still very sweet, but that has blended some now. Body is quite thick and the colour is a dark brown. Rating would have been rather worse last December. cdnbeermaven (1) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 21, 2013 does not count
The taste of this beer is a miraculous malty blend of chocolate and dark fruit (prunes), some leather in the aroma. The very high alcohol content is completely hidden except for in the aroma at times and the fact that one bottle can get you tipsy.
It has truly impressive balance and gets better with age. swiseman (526) - Fredericton, New Brunswick, CANADA - MAY 30, 2013
I’ve never been much of a fan of this style, but this stuff works. Excellent balance. While there is a hint of alcohol, I never would have guessed the ABV was so high. Lots of roast malt and a medium to heavy mouthfeel. I tend to find Pump House can be hit or miss. This is definitely a hit. Radek Kliber (7483) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - MAY 6, 2013

Aroma good malty profile. Proper approach of well lagered malts. Slight mineral with mild yet noticeable hop feel. Hints of ripe fruit with alcohol at end.
Appearance dark amber, slight haze , some garnet hue. Medium tanned , slightly creamy top. 3+
Flavor and Palate : medium full bodied. Malty, bready with good heft. I would not say that this is full 10%. Over all well presented doppel bock.
Bottle [12oz] shared with HogTownHarry, JoeMcPhee, Radek, jercraigs & mabel -- c/o JoeMcPhee. Pours a deep orange-amber with an average size lasting frothy tan head. Aroma of caramel malt, nuts, toffee, some light toastiness and brown sugar. Big flavour of caramel malt, toffee and burnt sugar. Alcohol is totally hidden. Average bodied. Pretty good. jercraigs (10886) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 14, 2013
2013-04-12. Crisp dark brown Body small beige head. 3+ Dusty malt aroma is mild. Flavour is sort of dry, relatively bitter. Not really to style? Wait 10% alcohol??? WTF?!? Alcohol is nearly non-existent on the palate. Average bodied palate is a bit light for the beer. Decent, but a bit mild overall. 12oz bottle shared by joemcphee with me, mabel, jercraigs, radek and blankboy. Clear burnt copper, average diminishing fizzy/foamy beige head. Sweet, sryupy, herbal - nice, a little slick and harsh. Okay. Gethinbeer (2452) - Nova Scotia, CANADA - FEB 8, 2013
Deep mahogany colour with a quick dissapating haeaf. Strong malt, sweet fruity syrup aroma. Strong malt flavour. Alcoholic notes. Bitter. A little harsh. It does smooth itself out. Harsh alcoholic finish.
