6 dollar 375ml bottle at the Malt House for Beer Week. Murky, chunky brown, a hint of orange. Massive effervescence, huge steady chunky beige head. A fantastic Belgian Dark Ale, a little more effervescent and floral than a typical Bruin/Dubbel..maybe just fresher. Super yeasty, pungent chocolate meets dark fruit, with a light, fluffy mouthfeel. One the best new Belgian breweries for sure. World Class. Travlr (25778) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - FEB 20, 2011
Draft at Churchkey, courtesy of Ed, thank you sir! Dark cloudy brown, huge beige head, massive lacing. Very nice aroma of black pepper and pumpernickel. Taste is very smooth and characterful, nice stuff. JoeMcPhee (9517) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 28, 2011
Massive gusher. The aroma is great. The aroma is a lovely balance of soft spice and a lovely earthy toasty character. There is a little bit of soft spice and a touch of bright minty character. There is a lot of fresh herbal spice and a bit of chewy character. There is a lot of soft peppery flavour along with some bright nutmeg and clove along with a little bit of leathery flavour. Really great stuff.

(Bottled, 0.375l) Very dark brown with a large, tanned head. Dark toffee and slightly sour malt in the nose, along with a strong and distinctive yeastiness. Flavor is caramely-creamy-toffee-malty, anise-peppery-spicy, lightly roasty, reasonably dry, even somewhat bitter. Medium to full body, silky-smooth palate with balanced CO2 and some alcohol presence. Another enjoyable and balanced one from this brewery. 4446

Pours deep red with MASSIVE tan head that lasts. Light, sweet, yeasty smell. Yeast and cereal taste - sweet and light with notes of mocha. Lemon finish with hint if mocha and pepper aftertaste. Slight tongue coating. Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - NOV 11, 2013
Pours a deep sienna color with four fingers of white tight bubbled foam. The nose is rustic with spicy grain, roasted caramel, cured meat, pine tar and some yeasty esters. On the palate it follows the nose nicely with a great balance between round sweet malt, bitter hop presence and a lot of complexity in between. Peppercorn, rye, chocolate, pine, grass, cola.. interesting and unique ! belgis (521) - - JAN 5, 2016
"brown" sour aroma, burnt sugar maybe? Intense rainbow of mild sourness. Can’t feel the alcohol. Sourness gets too intense but still not too much. No foam. Rich brown colour. Unique taste. tderoeck (10002) - Gent, BELGIUM - OCT 25, 2011

Gusher. Really cloudy dark brown beer, big beige head, unstable, adhesive. Aroma: caramel, mocha, bready yeast, toast, nuts, milk chocolate. MF: lots of carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet malts, sugar, mocha, milk chocolate, honey, little bitter, some grapefruit. Aftertaste: mocha, some chocolate, caramel, bitter orange peel. Alcohol is warming the throat. I think by the expiry date, the alcohol has gone up quite a bit.
