Best before 12-24-13 so probably not a fair review. Pours like carbonated iced tea - bubbly & murky copper w/out a head or lacing. The aroma contains some appealing Belgian spices. The flavor falls flat. It has some dry spice & sort of saison weirdness thing going on - possibly due to the age? Pours unclear amber, small white head. Smell is malty. Taste is bit bitter , grainy. Some sticky, overripe style yeast . Bit bitter aftertaste. 12/9/14. 375mL bottle from Five Points. Sort of surprised to see stuff like this popping up in Valdosta! The pour depends on how careful you are... there is A LOT of thick sludge in the bottom of this bottle. Decant carefully if you don’t want it in there. If you want, pour that sludge off into a shot glass and enjoy (your diarrhea tomorrow). Anyway, I got a light dose of sludge in my glass, so it’s a sort of hazy "pumpkin harvest" orange. Thanks to Mrs. Owl for the color descriptor. When I smelled the cork, it seemed a bit acidic/sour. Speaking of, good luck. I had to get pliers out to get the damn cork out. The aroma carries a vague tart funkiness, yeast, caramel, earthiness, and tart floral aspects. The tart/sourness doesn’t translate into the flavor as much... more of a vague floral sweetness with a dash of lemon peel, doughiness, and residual sweetness. This is maybe a weird connection, but the mild acidity combined with the earthy floral aspects remind me of tomato or tomato sauce in the flavor a bit. Interesting, not awful. Dormaal’s 2011 winter beer, same as Winter 11 but with altered recipe; malt sweetish beer, light spiciness, fruity; the added rose petal syrup, made from roses the brewer grows in his own garden, are apparent in both nose and mouth. Original, but not really my taste.

Bottle 2012. Aroma has notes of bread malts, grass and citrus hops and Belgian yeasts. Yellow hue before the sediment and then a ruddy tan. Small fully diminishing fizzy white head that left no lace.
