(37,5 cl bottle, under the name of Winter 11) Murky brass coloured, hazy, head disappears quickly. Aroma is spicy, peppery, with a cellary note and, well, witloof. Not very far away from that cooked vegetable aroma sometimes found in beer gone bad, but different and better. Taste is medium bitter with a light sweetness. Carbonation is lively, bubbles seem big. It’s certainly not perfect, but I have a soft spot for endives.

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, bright orangey golden colour with small to average, frothy to macropore, diminishing, off-white head. Fruity and vegetable-spicy aroma, hints of blood orange, celery and mild horseradish, a fruity ground layer with notes of physalis. Robe orangée trouble, haute mousse blanche et crémeuse d’une tenue incroyable. Nez fruitée : pomme et mirabelle, cidre, levure. Attaque acide, saveurs de cidre, pomme, vinaigre, malt, houblon et chicon peu présent, faible carbo, longueur faible. Dans le style de la brasserie (pour celles que j’ai goutées en tout cas) : fermier et sauvage.

Aroma: Medium spiciness, dried apricot, apple, Medium-light coriander, dry spice. Light cinnamon, white pepper.
Appearance: Massive, white head, medium-sized bubbles. Fair to low retention. Clear, golden body.
Flavour: Medium bready, bitterness, coriander, white pepper, spicy. Light toasted, banana notes. Dry finish with lingering toasted, apricot and light alcohol tinge, floral.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light warming. Medium body. Medium-high carbonation.
Overall: Nice, complex. Easy drinking, hiding the alcohol quite well. I do not know the "witloof" plant or the flavours, but from reading I assume it is the spiciness.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy amber body with a massive off-white head. Lively carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of white pepper, green apple and wheat. Flavour of vinegar, lemon juice and dry cider. Bottle from de Caigny, as Witgoud, bottled 10.2014 BB 04.2017, 37.5 cl sample. Almost clear amber color with tiny debris, big soapy head. Aroma is quite flowery, slight funky and some flowery witlof I guess. Quite well balanced and complex. Flowery and earthy bitterness in taste, slight spicy. Bit dry in the finish. 33cl bottle at home. Pale yellow / golden with a medium white soapy head. Medium body with way too much carbonation. Medium bitter and sweet tones. Citrus, wheat and indeed some chicory. Bottle at home. Murky amber pour with huge white head. Slightly overpoured there. Salad of raw chiccory with caramelized sugar, some spring onion, white raisans, coleslaw and a pinch of salt. Big sweet, light bitter. Over medium body soft but very lively carbonation. Very sweet in the finish with the lightest and fresh bitter touch. I expected this to be quite horrible but it’s actually quite delicate. The caramelized notes are very crisp and tasty.
