COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dos Equis Amber is a rich, full-bodied Mexican import with a reddish-gold color and is made from the finest ingredients, representing the brand’s traditional Mexican heritage. The history of Dos Equis Amber is traced to the development of the popular Oktoberfest-style of Vienna lager originally created during the mid-19th century.

This has the distinctive tang in nose many Mexican beers possess--some roastiness detectable here as well...Color is clear brown-amber with medium head--little lace...Flavor is slightly smoky, with light hop crispness and lingering tang that hangs on into finish...Carbonation is suitably restrained...This has a little more substance than most Mexican offerings and so is a viable alternative to the mass of more anemic offerings, especially when looking for a Mexican beer to drink with a zesty meal...

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2008 9/30/02: Had it at El Torritoes. It’s drinkable with Mexican food, but I’d rather have a Casta. 4/6/03: On [email protected] the Border. Cold, wet and rather tasteless.

Amber colour. Some malt in the nose but not much. The flavour is smooth and a little sweet. Not much mouthfeel in the aftertaste. One of my favourites with hot mexican food.

Weak aroma. Thin looking amber brew. Strong hops for this style but no depth to flavour palate or aftertaste. Smooth though. Can drink a number of these as opposed to Corona.

Damn NAFTA. They shouldn't be able to smuggle this stuff over the border....

A rich amber Mexican beer. I love Mexican beer, more so than any other South, Central, or Northern America. This is the best Mexican beer only to its brother Special Lager.

Dark amber color, small head. Vienna style lager, slightly caramelized malts, slightly hoppy. Mouthfeel is slightly malty. Balance is OK. Flavor is mild, but acceptable. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Had a few bottles of this after work. Very subtle nose is mostly doughy yeast and toasted malt. Pours a clear medium copper. Average fluffy off-white head is mostly diminishing with fair lacing. Mild flavor is very bland and shallow. The finish is weak. No acidity. Light to medium creamy body is lively and feels lightly astringent at the finish. A small step above most American Standard Lagers. Not what I would call Vienna as the label would have one think. I could buy a sixer of Miller High Life and save $3 instead.

Light brown/dark red in color. Malty aroma with a touch of hops and alcohol present. Fruity somewhat malty body that finishes lightly hoppy and dry.
