Bottle at home ... Copper brown ... light sweet toffee malts ... deep and quite bitter malts ... deep roast malts ... quita a lit of vanilla ... bit rough. Leighton (21298) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 14, 2010
Tap at Burp Castle. Pours a beautiful, amber-red with ruby highlights and a firm, white head. Nose is potent with pine and citrus hop aromas. Flavor is deep and layered. At once sweet and bitter, notes of dark fruits, caramel and candy abound. A pretty thick beer, heavy, with mild carbonation. Finish is sticky sweet and somewhat bitter. Super beer. Bottle @ Aarhus tasting. Clear amber with a lasting off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and moderate hoppy - fruity. Flavor is quite sweet and very bitter. Dry and very bitter finish with warming alcohol. 171013 fiulijn (20516) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 13, 2004
Cloudy amber color, creamy head. From the aroma to the flavor and palate, it's another hop-killer; very well malty. Thanks Philippe (Bov) for sharing this bottle. Beerhunter111 (20490) - P´Castle, GERMANY - JUN 21, 2015

Keg - dark amber with a big ole light beige head dress.
Nose is candied sugars, red grapefruit, toffee, brown sugars, bitter candied orange peel. hint of liqourice.
Taste comprises bitter citrics, candy sugar, grapefruit peel, rich caramel vein running throughout, orange pith, darker warming fruit notes.
Full end of medium bodied, fine carbonation, sweet finale, slightly drying.
Decent American strong - the alcohol is pretty well integrated for a double digit monster ! rlgk (18850) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 7, 2012
Bottle, released in 2007. Nice amber color with a beige/yellowish head. Malty vinous aroma, figs, some other fruits, leather notes, some caramel. Hoppy vinous flavor, alcohol, grass, roasted, caramel. A bit too much alcohol. harrisoni (18579) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2007
Bottle at Chris_O bottlefest 2007. Attractive red/amber colour with lasting cream coloured head. Fresh hop grapefruit aroma. Vanilla, syrupy in mouth and then really aggressive hop on end. It’s unsubtle. I prefered the standard Arrogant Bastard. Sticky. A bit like emery paper over the tongue. saxo (18571) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - OCT 17, 2013
Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are hops, caramel, fruits, yeast and malt. Nice, bitter and sweet. Some alcohol present. mcberko (17854) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 3, 2010
UPDATED: MAR 12, 2012 650mL bottle, pours dark amber with a white head. Aroma of caramel malt and sugar. Flavour is similar to the Arrogant Bastard (toffee, caramel malt, brown sugar, nuts), but more sugary / malty, and therefore balanced. Excellent.
