Bottle from a friend. Deep red color, beige head. Roasty taste with coffee, chocolate, raisins, plum, oak and smoky aroma. Roasty finish with oak aroma. Excellent strong ale. Art (3217) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 11, 2013
Very smooth double. I wish I had some of their aged versions. Enjoyable from time to time.

Bomber into arrogant bastard fizzy yellow beer is for wussies pint. Brownish red pour. Aroma is hops like a double ipa. Taste is unique. Lots of hops but also a whole lot of malt. Pine hops very bitter. Malt is carmel. Different than the dark malt of a black ipa. Good stuff, and very different. ozarkspops (368) - - JAN 15, 2013
Clear darkish amber pour. Medium thick off white head. Aggressive aroma of earthy hops, malt sweetness, and alcohol. Also has aggressive flavors that seem to evolve several times throughout. Sharp hop bitterness and alcohol comes through first. Lots of hop spice. Good amount of sweetness to offset the hops and then comes back to a dry hoppy finish.

Overall, this is a great solid brew that is heavy on the alcohol side of things but the malt profile helps keep the flavor in check and not overwhelmed.

Had this multiple Times but first time rating it. Mahogany in color, the aroma promises butterscotch, dark fruit, caramel, vanilla and honey which the taste promptly delivers along with some hints of cocoa, citrus and slight herbal tones. Very good indeed!

Pours a nice ruby red with a large off white head that lasts long with good lacing. Very nice balance for an 11.2% beer. A little unpleasant bitter aftertaste. Not bad. Cant drink more than 2. Plum citrus and alcohol aroma.

2011 bottle. Deep amber with two finger head. It’s every bit as harsh as you’d expect from the name. But also, quite delicious. Pretty substantial malt base with huge hoppiness and booze.

Poured from bomber into tulip glass. Beautiful color...like hazy caramel. Good foamy off white head that faded to a thin ring/layer and left some nice lacing.
Aroma is hard to define. Reminds me of some Belgians I’ve had. Lots of hops, but also malt. Spice, floral, woody, alcohol, pine. Quite a bit of sweet at first taste but quickly moves to warming alcohol with a long finish. Fairly lively but soft carbonation. There’s a lot going on with this and all of it is very good. tdmuel (251) - South Carolina, USA - OCT 11, 2013
22oz. bottle filled from a 2012 keg. Pour is a slightly hazy burnt orange with a small off white head. Very sweet nose, feels like a cross between a barleywine and a dark belgian. Notes of candi sugar, sweet caramel, dark fruits, very citrusy hops, noticeable alcohol on the nose, and a nice biscuity malt note. Huge citrusy hops that have hardly faded away up front on the taste, then it goes to a plum and cherry sweetness, there’s an almost chocolatey taste there, nice piney notes, and a somewhat sticky syrupy taste. Very tasty beer, and even after a year it is still very very aggressive.
