Bottle 330ml.

Clear medium amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, wood, honey, light to moderate yeasty. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, fruity, honey ! Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20121019]

Pours hazy dark brown with a quickly disappearing, off-white head. Brown sugar is noticeable in the aroma, as are caramel, toffee, chocolate and dried fruits. It tastes medium to heavy sweet but toned down by some yeasty bitterniss. Slick, but also a slightly watery texture, short finish and soft carbonation. Underwhelming, becomes a bit boring in the end. More of an (Abbey) Dubbel to me, certainly no Sweet Stout.

F: big, tan, average retention. C: dark brown, opaque. A: dark malt, caramel, hint of chocolate, dark fruits, brownie, mellow fruity. T: malty, light chocolate, brown sugar, syrupy, dark cherries, banana, yeasty, hint of herbal, medium body, medium carbonation, like a dubbel for me, good and nothing special, 33cl bottle from Carrefour market St. Michel @ Etterbeek, Brussels.

I rather liked this dark sweet stout. A rather unique beer with a nice heavy aroma.

Aroma of malt, caramel, raisins, some dark fruits, metallic notes, hint of spices. Flavour is medium sweet with a light bittersweet finish. Creamy, full body. Its a shame about the metallic aspect.

Zwart bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is lichtzoet en licht rokerig, drop en anijs met port smaak. Erg goed bier, blijft redelijk lang hangen.

Alengrin (5249) - BELGIUM - AUG 13, 2014
Something between a dubbel and a dry stout, with beige, sticky, creamy, stable head and very dark burgundy colour, almost blackish, misty. Dark malts in the nose, chocolate, candied dates, coffee powder, hazelnuts, brown sugar, ginger, blackberry, cloves, parsley. Candied fruits in the onset, soft sweetness, light carbonation, after which a surprisingly deep maltiness unfolds, caramelly, bit chocolatey and becoming even roasted bitter in the end, with spicy yeastiness and herbal hops in the background; some of the initial sweetness also lingers, perhaps a bit much. Im sure this would have been a more than average beer otherwise.

Absoluut niet mijn smaak. Er zullen hopelijk mensen dit lekker vinden, maar dit kon ik niet volledig opdrinken

DJoer (1285) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 11, 2014
Medium brown head, dark black colour with a red glow, sweet chocolat hints swetty(!?) Smell, sour medium carbonatuon low bitter, rare taste a bit peppery malty but it is to sweet for me, not my cup of thee
