Strong Dark Belgian
Here comes the monster GOLIATHON! Fermented with a friendly yeast from Inglemunster in Belgium, along with our house yeast from Rochefort, Goliathon is a roasty, malty beer with fruit forward overtones. German Carafa and British roast barley were added late in the mash tun to provide rich color without an excessive amount of roast bitterness.

This beer is my favorite beer of the OBF. Strong and rich, there is no way one tastes the 11% ABV. Very balanced flavor with no one element taking the spotlight. It's a truly spectacular beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at OBF. Pours dark brown with beige bubbles. Aromas of dark fruit and Belgian yeast/spice. Full bodied. Flavor is dark fruit, lighter fruity esters, treacle and arguably kandi. There’s no heat. It’s high on sweet but there’s lots of other things countering that. Sort of a baltic porter that went Belgian. Very tasty.

Rusty brown with a thin white head. Aroma of caramelized sugar and yeast. Taste is surprisingly less sweet, more fruit than refined sugar.

Draught. Dark red black with thin white head. Earthy sweet aroma. Flavour is like candy, but not too sweet. Big bodied, Fruity finish.

Tap @ 15th Ave. Hophouse... Poured deep brown, ruby-ish with a beige head. Low alcohol booziness, malt sweetness, vinous dark fruits. Full bodied, moderate carbonation. Raisins and prune juice. Candy sugar and a mild bitterness. Estery and fruity.

after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - MAR 4, 2012
Draft at uber. Pours an opaque dark brown with a loose and creamy tan head. Big sweet caramel, dates, and vanilla nose. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Caramel date and vanilla mid palate. Not a lot of complexity to the flavor, especially given the abv.

mcberko (18999) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 3, 2012
On tap at Uber Tavern, pours a cloudy reddish dark brown with a big beige head. Aroma of brown sugar, Belgian yeast and hops. Flavour of sweet candied sugar, Belgian yeast, and caramel malt, with almost a peppery note in there. A bit cloyingly sweet, but quite good.

HopheadHans (804) - Bay Area, California, USA - MAR 1, 2012
Very nice quad. Does pour with a rust brown color. smallish head. Flavors of molasses and some bread and fig. Very nice palate with good stickiness.

Draft. Dark mahogony beer with a dark cream colored head. Yeast and light dark fruit aroma with malt. Yest and dark fruit flavor with caramel. Medium-plus bodied. Caramel and yeast lingers with dark fruits.
