Fresh Hop IRA
Mother Nature is a wonder. Each year she decrees what her bounty will bring, regardless of what we think it should be. Thusly, Sodbuster Farms in Salem brought us two varieties of fresh hops; Perle, and Sterling. The consortium of these hops provides the Killer Red with aromas of blood orange, pineapple, and forest. A healthy malt bill balances the top end and lends candied fruit, biscuit, and caramel character to the tongue. When life hands you hops, make fresh hop beer!.

First thing my nose said was “chicken soup?” that yeast-fart smell, mild, with green leaves, caramel and wood smoke. A little cloudy, intentionally. Light on the palate, decent effervescence. Flavor murky, sort of strawberry with some oak and caramel. Full finish.

bulldogops (2726) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 19, 2016
Rating #2156 - 2015.11.09 - Draught @revolutionyyc. Red-amber pour with a weak, white head that bubbles away to a ring. Aroma is strong with hoppy overtones, piney, lemon zesty and cookie dough malt. Taste is more of the same, dry piney citrusy hops and pastry malts dominating the flavour, with a hint of sweetness. Finish is dry, but balanced and satisfying

sulawang (1188) - - APR 6, 2016
Visual: Pours reddish brown with a nice 1.5cm dissipating head, sticky lacing, a thin layer of retention, lost of slow steady streams. Nose: citrusy pine hops, toasted malt backdrop, light boozy (lvl-6)-pungency Attack: creamy-fine, crisp Mid-palate: (lvl-5-sweetness), more creamy CO2, sweet light toasty barley malt, apple, orangy hop oils Finish: soft green grassy piney off-dry bitter hops, malty sweet finish. Summary: Solid malty hoppy profile with a very nice creamy mouthfeel. It’s just a touch too dry on the finish for me.
