2018-02-05. Hazy dark orange body, modest off-white head and lace. 3+ Aroma of sweet grapefruit, muted malt. Flavour is moderately bitter, lots of grapefruit character, like sweetened grapefruit juice. (Feels like it may have been added post brew, but that's pure speculation on my part.) Odd mix with the underlying base beer, moderate hop bitterness, sweetish malt, light caramel and perhaps a bit of oxidation? Average plus bodied palate, good carbonation. Okay, a bit rough around the edges. 6/3/6/3/13-14 Can from the LCBO, Toronto.

This was delicious and refreshing, yet it brought to mind the question: Should I rate it based on the beverage it is, sheerly on taste, or on its 'beer' qualities? Because as fantastic as it tasted, it seemed more a 'grapefruit juice' than any beer or IPA I've ever had. So if I were Double Trouble, I'd fine-tune this just a tad, and ramp up the beerness whilst toning down the grapefruit flavor. But they're onto something truly great here. It's from a 6-pack sampler of three kinds, and I look very forward to trying out the other two flavours over the next couple of days!

Really bright grapefruit aroma. Has a juicy scented nose along with a bit of sweetness. There's a touch of light fruit and a bit of maltiness. Decent but a bit harsh on the bitterness.

Can. Half hazy orange body, small white head. The aroma has grapefruit. The taste is syrupy with a nice hoppy finish.

Can - Sweet and juicy pink grapefruit. Clearish gold with a decent white head. Intense pink grapefruit, peel bitterness and a touch of caramel malts to balance.

Can: Poured a clear orangey color ale with a large foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of grapefruit with some citrusy hops is quite enticing. Taste is a mix of grapefruit juice with some citrusy notes and some residual sugar notes cutting through the bitterness. Body is about average with good carbonation. Quite enjoy the mix of grapefruit and hops.

Pours a clean golden-amber colour with a big frothy yellow-beige head, long lasting with some nice lace. Red grapefruit aromas over light caramel malts. The taste starts off malty with some caramel notes. Then, the bitterness arrives and the hops finish this on a dry side. The grapefruit juice is milder here, blended with some nice cereal grains. Light haziness at last pour. Very drinkable. I quite like this.

Can from LCBO. Grapefruit candy aroma. Bitter citrus taste with some.candy sweetness in the finish.

Tallboy from LCBO. Pours a fairly large frothy bubbly off-white head and has a golden light amber appearance. Thick patchy lacing. Aromas of floral and resin hops, grassy and wheaty as well. Flavours are citrusy, mostly the grapefruit but it seems to be a bit too acidic, sort of the diacetyl like aftertaste going for it. A little bit of zest as well. Bitterness on the palate. ok.

bunget (1054) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 14, 2017
Can. Hazy dirty orange body, small beige head with average retention and some lacing. Aroma of grapefruit drink, grains and dried apricots. Taste of herbs, pine, grapefruit zest and grains. Odd one.
