Bree Louise. Cask. Hazy amber beer, no real head. Palate is smooth with very modest carbonation. Light marmalade, very mellow spice. Whisper of esters before a neutral finish. Pretty drinkable.
BC from The Wine Cellars, Lutterworth. Dusky copper with a well-fed off-white head showing good retention. Faint aroma suggesting apple bubblegum, cinnamon, sasparilla as it warms. If you close your eyes you can smell the pub dog, too. Subdued, Bateman’s-like flavour (but better)with gentle ground bark, rooty spice (liquorice, fenugreek, root beer). Pleasant, Allsort-y. Digestives in the finish. Pretty slick. A shame- prefer Dow Bridge’s more rustic efforts with a waft of the farmyard about them.
