On cask at the Chandlers Arms Shearsby. Traditional Porter nose of strong hops but not overpowering - hints of chocolate. Very dark beer with a strong off-white head with good retention. Stong chocolate malt taste to begin with which finishes with a good dose of hops. Pleasant on tthe pallate. A strong beer, ideal warmer for a cold evening.

Theydon_Bois (20485) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - SEP 2, 2012
Cask at the Squirrel, Rugby - 25/07/12. Dark brown approaching black with a thin off-white head. Roast malts, licquorice, leather, wood and a touch of chocolate on the nose. Taste expands from the nose with a dry bitter sweet aftertaste. I enjoyed this, it had bollocks and a decent body, not like some of it’s over watery siblings!
