COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our fourth beer is named in honor of the first foreign born governor in California- John Gately Downey. Our city is named after this Irish born entrepreneur who had family ties to beer making. Our dunkel pours to a deep reddish mahogany with a full, foamy tan head. Flavors like roasted malt, chocolate and grassy hops stand out in every sip of this beer. Cheers!

This was a good beer. After asking for a local brown ale, the bartender recommended this. Highly drinkable, great taste and aroma. Would definitely get it again.

On tap @ Downey Brewing. Dark amber/light brown pour with an off-white head. Smells of toast, coffee grounds, and prune juice. Kind of rough. Flavor is bitter, oxidized, and overly sweet. Tons of prune, coffee grounds, and bitter cocoa powder. Really not pleasant.
