Cask; Regular (as Honey Blonde). Also available bottle conditioned (as Chimera Honey Blonde).
A golden straw coloured bitter. A superb blend of spicy and floral hops, added to the smooth sweetness imparted by Flaked Maize and Mexican honey, make this a beer that never hangs around for long! Champion Beer at the Alton Beer Festival 2008, and also available in bottle.
Honey Blonde is a light and refreshing blonde/golden ale, with subtle hints of honey and softly sweet malt. The finish is crisp and refreshing.

Cask-conditioned at the Lime Kiln, Bristol 19/2/2017. Deep gold in colour with a slight, white, head. Stone fruits, leafy hops, lager malts, some honey character and a decent, bitter, finish. Fine.

Cask at the Castle Tap, Reading. Startling vivid gold colour with a thick white head- its really quite a looker! Unfortunately though its a mixture of honey and beer. Now, dont get me wrong, Im a big fan of both honey and beer when taken separately, but to my palette at least they rarely seem to work together. In this case theres a big hit of sweet pure set honey up front. Nice honey actually, I quite fancy that on a slice of bread. However, Downton have instead shoved it in a beer. The honey dominates throughout (leaving a rather sticky mouthfeel) but there is a grassy hop bitterness in the tail end which, as usual, clashes with the honey rather than complimenting or balancing it. So, I continue to be unconvinced by honey beers.

Bottle from Bernies Off License, Solihull. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a frothy white head and lots of broken lace. The aroma is yeast, light malt. The flavour is moderate bitter with a dry light earthy mineral hop palate. Light bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle. Golden and slightly cloudy. Subtle sweetness and a bitter finish. Not very interesting and another disappointing one from this brewery.

Cask @ The Priory Arms. The pours a bright gold with a medium white head. Attractive. The nose is strong honey, hints of grass and general woodland. Light lemon drizzle cake. The taste is dominated by honey. Quite sweet (obviously). Some general pale malt and bready flavors. Light finish. Slightly watery body, fine carbonation. Overall, an OK beer. People in my party were mad for this. I found it a bit one-dimensional.

Bottle thats been in the fridge for over a year. Very lively when opened, had to pour in two goes. Clear, light gold with big and persistent head. Floral aroma. More flowers in the taste, with honey coming at the end, leaving a fairly well lasting light bitterness. Very tasty and refreshing.
