Originally offered as a Christmas special, this old ale has proven to be a favourite all year round. Distinctive chocolate and orange flavour notes work excellently against a rich, hoppy background.

Fra cask/gravity på Plymouth CAMRA Beer and Cider Festival 24 Sep 16. Mørkebrun. Lavt luftig skum. Kraftig appelsinaroma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken blodappelsin med en anelse sjokolade. Tørr avslutning.

Swaroga (2224) - Warszawa, POLAND - DEC 1, 2016
50cl bottle. The beer has a light brown color with small head. Aroma is dried tea with some dark dried fruits, toast bread and little zest. The beer has just slightly more carbonation then a regular real ale pint. It’s thin and watery. There’s a bit of spicy hoppy and sulfury aftertaste. Not a good one but again...better then a corpo-lager.

Gravicask, shared with Finn on the second day of Plymouth Camra Beer Festival 2016. Clear brown coloured body. Filmy layer, scattered lacing. Roasted dark chocolate malty nose. Malt-fruity taste of dark chocolate and roasted citrus peels. Soft in the mouth, Easy to drink. Satisfying (24.09.2016).

Cask at the Wellington; clear dark mahogany brown pour with a creamy beige head, aroma has some plain chocolate and some caramel, taste has chocolate malts, hint of orange, some spice and sweet caramel.

Cask at The Leeky Tap, Leek. A slight hazy brown colour with a medium off white head. Aroma of caramel, bready malts, slight chocolate, a little orange and subtle spicy hops. Taste is similar of caramel, bready malts, slight chocolate, a little tangy orange and subtle spicy hops. Medium bodied and an oily texture. A dryish, caramelly, orange bitterness in the finish. Not a great deal of chocolate but enough tangy orange flavour to make it interesting. A rich, malty beer.

Cask @ Calans, Hebden Bridge. Copper-red with a small glow. The chocolate orange is light, lingering, with a malty nose.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin long lasting off white head. The aroma is unsurprisingly chocolate and orange. The flavour is moderate sweet with a big rich smooth chocolate orange, light spicy hop, light alcohol liqourice bitter palate. This really is like drinking a Terry’s Chocolate Orange. Awesome!

Clear red/brown with no head. Incredibly strong chocolate/orange aroma. Tastes just like a Terry’s Chocolate Orange. Light bodied.

Tried at the White Bear, Tewkesbury. Deep brown to amber colour with a cream coloured head. Aroma is light chocolate and fruit, no orange for me. Taste is a bit too citrus and chocolate for me.
