Cask at the Hope, Carshalton. It pours very, very dark brown, with a thick beige head. The nose is roasted malt, charcoal, smoke and a hint of sulphur. The taste is roasted malt, charcoal, smoke, leather, coffee and liquorice, with a long dry-roasted finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Good balance. A solid mild. kwik-lime (1915) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 22, 2012
The coffee and malt come through nicely in the aroma. Taste is burnt malt, some coffee and chocolate, slightly thin palate with a bit of a twang to it. Head doesn’t last too well. Pretty good beer, very drinkable.
