A beautiful deep brown hue and a nutty sweetness identify this style of ale from Northern England. Although malt and caramel flavor dominate, hops provide a medium level of bitterness at the finish.

4oz on tap at the brewpub. Good toasty malt, kind of spicy. Some nuttiness, mild caramel malt. Definitely drinks like an English-style brown. Moderate sweet, light to moderate bitter taste. Mildly astringent. Clear red, slight camber color. Thin off-white head, leaving great thicker lace. Medium-plus body. Kind of slick texture. Kind of crisp lighter carbonation. A pretty reasonably solid english-style brown ale. Classically styled.

Draft: Very nice...nutty and roasty. This has a great earthy quality to it. Goes great with some of the great food they offered at the brewery. Lot’s of caramel sweetness. This is a great brew that I would recommend you try.
