Creamy and substantial, this brew is bursting with the flavor of dark roasted grains. Oats add a soft velvety texture that blends well with the distinct malty flavor.

4oz on tap at the brewpub. Good cocoa nib up front, mild coffee, light roast malt. Clear very dark red color, looks dark brown from a distance. Thin off-white head, leaves some good thicker sheets of lace. Moderate bitter taste, light sweet. Mildly spicy. Kind of astringent finish, again. medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Light dry finish. Decent stout.

On draught at Downtown Grille, Knoxville on 8 July 2006. Black. Quite light bodied. Smooth, creamy oat character comes through strongly. Not that sweet. Pleasant but seemed a little underpowered to me.
