Draft at the brewpub on July 23, 2016. Opaque brown hue, good sweet roasted malt nose, light body for a stout, taste like the nose with some chemical notes but not enough to take much away from the beer. Good brew. JStax (7132) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - NOV 8, 2015
Draft sample at the source. The beer is a darker brown with a beige head of foam. The aroma has moderate toast and is a bit sweet. Some caramel and nits also come through. Mild sweetness, and more of the bitterness of the roast comes through. Medium body and medium carbonation. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 6, 2015
4oz on tap at the brewpub. Good cocoa nib up front, mild coffee, light roast malt. Clear very dark red color, looks dark brown from a distance. Thin off-white head, leaves some good thicker sheets of lace. Moderate bitter taste, light sweet. Mildly spicy. Kind of astringent finish, again. medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Light dry finish. Decent stout. Travlr (25868) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - NOV 17, 2014

On tap at downtown grill Knoxville TN. State street stout is a rich brown black with a thin tan head of small bubbles. Nose is black coffee with a hint of dark chocolate. Body is fluid. Just a hint of sweetness appears on the finish. A fine beer for a brewpub. GnarlyGnome (770) - Fairfield, Ohio, USA - MAR 12, 2012
Draft, sampler: great looking brown with a tan head. Chocolate and coffee aromas and a great sweet flavor that finishes roasty.
