Draft - Dirty earthy notes and cocoa. Dirty brown with a small white head. Light up front tartness and soured earthy. It’s not pleasant to me. djd07 (15106) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUL 16, 2016
On tap at the brewery. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is caramel, dark fruit, oak. Thin body, similar flavors to nose, light tartness, very good. Drake (13954) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 19, 2013
750 mL bottle from the brewery. Pours a hazy dark brown color with a thin tan head. Fair head retention. Weak aroma of caramel malts, stone fruits and a bit of chocolate. The taste is caramel, nutty notes, raisin, stone fruits, spice. Medium bodied, low carbonation. The commercial description says I have to be "brave" to try this. Mmm... no. I’m tempted to deduct a point for their pretentiousness, but I’ll refrain. It’s actually a decent beer.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazed amber with a medium sized white head. Soft cocoa, orange, citrus, a touch of vanilla. Medium bodied, soft cocoa, a bit of tartness, musky and funky, orange and vibrant touches of citrus and orange acidity. Tangy cocoa and a touch of orange juice acidity into the finish. Very pretty.

Squat bottle from Frank Smith’s. Pours turbid chestnut with tan head and refermented shrapnel at the bottom. Nose is dark fruit, velvety malt of the scotch and vienna variety to my nose, brown sugar, cherry, fruitcake. Tastes smooth, rich, very complex, with flavors of dark fruit, vienna malt, earthy notes, caramel, cherry, mint, and a complex finish. Yet another great beer from these guys. Like a poor man’s Westy 12. alexsdad06 (10486) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUL 16, 2016
