Growler. Well, a definite Belgian beer taste. Very malty, yet somehow creamy and smooth. Still sugary, as should be expected, but kind of easy going down.

Tap...nice aroma of fruit, candi sugar, and bittersweet hops/malt. Lots of fruity esters in the taste along with candi sugar, and yeasty funk. Tasty rendition of a Dubbel.

Draft - Brown sugar and some stone fruit. Clearish gold with a decent off white head. Stone fruit, estery yeast and sugars. Light bitterness and dry finish.

Petkus331 (389) - Redford, Michigan, USA - JAN 11, 2014
A very bubblegum and banana ester aroma. Appearence is clear gold, minor head and lace. Taste is a mildly sweet toffee, honey, banana, and some brown sugar. Palate is standard for a belgian style. Overall, very nice.

Brown pour, beige head. Flavors of dates and dried figs, some raisiny notes. Sweet caramel notes and a bit of unpleasant hop flavors.

UPDATED: JUN 1, 2014 Didn’t find too sweet, but definitely tasted alcohol with this one. Clove, Belgian yeast. Strong nose of bubble gum and banana. Darker amber pour. Good as a 1/2 pint. Followup: Honestly, probably one of the better Belgians at DM.

2.8
chucklemation (1681) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - AUG 21, 2013
Red beer with no distinct aroma or flavor. The malts are barely there. Overall an okay beer.

On tap at Dragonmead 3-13-09. Smelled and tasted just like a lighter version the dubbel. Light fruits, syrupy, and a little too sweet.

3.2
nefarious (220) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - FEB 7, 2009
On tap at the brewery. Belgian yeast aroma of cloves and sweetness. Dark amber red pour with no head. Much of the same with the flavor, bannana’s cloves and ripe fruits. But a slight tart finish. Not bad. its very smooth as well, I liked this more than I thought I would.

2.7

20070113 Tap at HDG Daze. Thin bodied, cardboard, floral, grainy. Honey sweetness. Redeeming grassiness but pretty lame all around.
