3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Dragonmead Brewpub. Amber with faint remnants of a head. Aroma is fruity with caramel, yeast and mild breadiness. Taste of dark fruit, caramel, yeast, mild esters and a dry finish. Sweet and drinkable.
Majority of 6 oz. pour, on tap at the brewery’s taproom in Warren, Michigan. Consumed on 9-26-16. Lightly hazy amber. Small amount of beige head. Light in color for the style. Malty and juicy aroma. Carob scent. Pleasant and fresh but subdued smell. Nice, toasted, caramel taste. Quite pleasant and enjoyable flavor. Subtly Belgian in flavor. Prune juice. Medium body. Lively in the palate. Fun and likable beer. Not outstanding but enjoyable. flatmatt (1587) - Northville, Michigan, USA - MAR 5, 2016
On tap at Dragonmead. Pours deep, clear amber with a white head. Sweet red grape and caramel aroma, yeastiness. Sugary red and green grape flavor. Pretty nice. Petkus331 (389) - Redford, Michigan, USA - JAN 11, 2014
An aroma of banana and dark bread. Appearence is clear gold, with minor white fizz and minor lace. Taste is a blalanced sweetness and bitterness of honey, banana, and malt. Palate is a little creamy and a little fizzy, very nice. Overall, very nice! tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - JAN 8, 2014
UPDATED: JAN 9, 2014 Tap: burnt orange-ish, amber body, not as mahogany as I’d expect from a dubbel... Hazy with a small, off white layer of foam on top. Aroma is full force Belgian yeast; bubblegum, light clove, fruity banana esters, along with some dark plum & raisin notes. Faint caramel & residual sugar in the periphery. Flavor is similar with notes of yeast, caramel, bubblegum, banana, plum, Candi sugar, raisin, & a slightly medicinal, phenol alcohol character. Decent dubbel from Dragonmead, though nothing particularly special about it. chucklemation (1720) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - DEC 4, 2013
Dark brown ale. Has a sweet yeast aroma and an even sweeter flavor - a little too sickly sweet. There’s also a hint of bitterness to add some complexity, so overall it is okay.

On tap at the brewpub. Very sweet and yeasty. So-so drinkability. Slightly above average mouthfeel. firstsip (733) - Michigan, USA - OCT 12, 2013
UPDATED: JAN 11, 2014 Solid Belgian, as usual for Dragonmead. Good yeast, banana and clove. Well balanced, and lacking any boozy flavor. Odd touch of malty caramel. hopscotch (11161) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - AUG 11, 2010
Nitro… RBSG 2010… Clear amber ale with orange highlights and a quickly dissipating head. The nose offers esters of banana and pink bubblegum alongside a clove-like phenol and malty notes of toffee, biscuit and caramel. Full-bodied and velvety with soft carbonation. The flavor is spicy-phenolic and sweet… almost to the point of being cloying. As with the finish of many of Dragonmead’s beers, there is no grand finale, per se… just a slow, sweet fade. badnewsbeers (2312) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUL 2, 2010
amber body. banana nose with added nuts, sugary malts. very hefe like. massive banana flavor with big complementary clove. slight yeasty finish
