COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This American Spiced Ale is reminiscent of your favorite autumn dessert: pumpkin pie. The nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon that create this beer's delicious aroma are balanced against the malts and pumpkin in this recipe to give this spicy treat its charming flavor profile. This beer deserves every bit of its "10" aroma rating. But, then again, I am a sucker for all those pumpkin pie spices - ginger, clove, etc.. Some hints of malt, and surprisingly, alcohol. Smells warm like grandmaís kitchen. Dark orange color that holds the light well. First sip ... plenty of body behind those spices, a little heavier with the hops than anticipated. This beer started out phenomenally. But, it got a little dry towards the end. Still a great beer for this time a year.

Tap: Pours amber with little head. Aroma was spiced pumpkin pie almost like the yankee candle. Little pumpkin flavor and really strong spice. Overall very smooth pumpkin ale.

On tap: Spice and light pumpkin in the aroma. Transparent amber with a small white head. Light spice in the fron with light pumpkin. Spice reallh comes on in the finish and becomes the dominate flavor.

On tap at the brewery. Orange amber color with a foamy beige head and a big nose of pumpkin pie spice. The smell reminded me of momís pumpkin cookies. Taste of cininmon, clove, pie spice and a white sugar sweetness. Palate is so dry you can almost taste the powder of the spices. A little light in body, and not enough beer here to support the spices. But I still like this style for an Autumn treat.

Had both on cask and standard. Cask is a opaque, milky brown with a more vegetable quality to the pumpkin flavor. Normal is an orangey-amber with a much brighter malt character, and pumpkin spice character shines through more.

Amber colored. Has a sweet aroma like brown sugar. The combination of spices gives this a mildly sweet flavor. Tasty, though I wish there was just a little more to it.

Wonderful smell... outside lambics, this is the best smelling beer I have had. The flavor, like most fruit beers, does not do it justice, but it is not bad.

medium brown large white head. moderate carbonation. a little bitterness up front followed by somewhat indiscernable spices, that arenít immediately identified as traditional pumpkin pie spices. the spice lies in the background, without much else to the beer. flawed recipe

On at at the Dragonmead Brewery. Poured a medium amber color with a small sized head. Aromas and tastes of pumpkins and spices. Not overly spiced nor not overly pumpkin.
