4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sweet mouth feel with a definite jalapeño burn in the throat. A great novelty beer or for those who want to feel the burn.
On tap at Dragonmead. Pours a gold amber with a white head. Aroma is more or less like a raw green pepper. Delicious hot pepper flavor, almost like pepper jack cheese (but without the cheese part). Certainly has some heat, but not too much. This is probably the best hot pepper beer I’ve had yet. paintedmaple (671) - People’s Republic of Bloomington, Indiana, USA - AUG 1, 2015
Tap...outstanding fresh chili aroma and flavor with decent heat (all though would have liked more). Solid and easy drinking beer. Ferris (15275) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 12, 2014
Draft - Fresh green chilli spice. Clearish gold with a decent white head. Green chilli peppers and a nice manageable heat. Not bad, quite flavorful. firstsip (733) - Michigan, USA - JAN 4, 2014
On tap at brewery. Crisp golden color. Nose of pickled peppers. Solid, creamy mouthfeel. Tastes of pepper seeds with a nice heat in the back of the mouth. madvike (3264) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 25, 2012
On tap at GTMW - Pours light yellow with a creamy white head. Nose is peppery, with light malt. Hot pepper, but not overly so, makes for a bit of a chocolate taste. Wow--really peppery in the taste. Too much that it overwhelms the cream ale. All I can get is a bit of corny malt. Light bodied and real carbonated. Not the best execution, but interesting. chibuck (3513) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 22, 2011
draft... really impressed with this beer despite being able to only drink a few ounces, its hot but not so hot you can’t drink it, the flavor of a jalapeno dominate more than anything but its comes across really crisp and fresh... must try if you like peppers or spicy beers badnewsbeers (2312) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAY 10, 2011
Draft at dragonmead. Ring of fire. Cloudy orange with small white head. Aroma of sweet pepper and hot pepper. Kind of like a salsa drenched nachos. Flavor is very similar. Mostly red pepper with spices all around. quite good and an easy drinker. 747314 JoeMcPhee (9426) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 3, 2010
Tap at Dragonmead. Pale golden pour with a touch of haze. The nose has a kiss of light peppery spice. Fairly sweet pale malt on the back. Not as much spice on the flavour as is suggested in the nose. It’s okay, but kind of a one-trick pony. zdk (1917) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 6, 2010
Tap @ Dragonmead - hazy yellow pour, thin white head. Arouma is chillies, light caramel and sweet. Light piney hops, lots of chilli heat. Spicey, habenaro and spicey... but the heat is not well integrated into the body of the beer. Good execution in general on a difficult style. They don’t do much else this well.
