Pour out of 12 oz bottle, very hazy dark red pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of tart berry, cherry, caramel, toffee, some nuts, hints of earth, spice, yeast. Bottle. Cloudy reddish brown in color. Crazy amount of carbonation, so the glass was all tan head. Smells of yeast and fruit, with a hint of acid and vinegar. After the head goes down, it has moderate carbonation and a thin, watery body. Sweet and tart, plum-like flavor, with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Okay, but I hoping for more.

Tap: metallic copper-y body with a solid brown overlay, mostly cloudy & topped with a light beige layer of foam that lasts for only a few moments. Aroma is pretty mild with notes of spicy hops, faint toffee, nuts, some polished wood, & an apparent mustiness. Taste is a little strange... Has the base of a brown ale with malty notes of caramel, nuts, toffee, & slight cocoa powder, but there’s a musty, almost wet cardboard note throughout. Not oxidation... just... cardboard-y in a very surreal way. Some zesty & lightly bitter hoppage throughout. The off-flavor was distracting. bottle. Amber with small head. Fairly average ESB style, which is to say that it’s much better than the other Dragonmead brews I’ve had.
