An American Pale Ale. For batch number 1500, Josh & Brian decided to brew a big hoppy beer, yet make it quaffable by keeping the alcohol level down. Turns out everyone liked it so much, that it is now brewed year-round. Loads of Simcoe and Amarillo hops are blended in the fermenter, just after fermentation has finished, to impart a huge aroma of pine and citrus.

Tap at eureka in palm desert. Dark gold with medium white head and good lacing. Sweet hop aroma. Very sticky. Hoppy but with syrupy malt and fruit like elements. Not a one dimensional beer. But not sure I prefer it.

Draft at base camp Tahoe -. Pours amber, not really pale but beautiful with an ivory head and sick lacing. Aroma is ripe berry, pine resin. Nice creamy mouth feel. Strawberry, pepper, citrus, traces of caramel. Delicious!

Tap at GABF. Pours a cloudy orange with small white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is pine, citrus, grass. Medium body, grapefruit, pine, lingering bitter finish, very good.

Cloudy gold color with a healthy white head of foam. Juicy, bright citrus with a dialed-in balance of cereal malt. Up there with Lagunitas Born Yesterday Pale Ale in being one of the greats.

From a bottle. Just what you would expect, well made with a big slap of hops, super sessionable.

On tap at the Office. Pours a clear gold with an orange hue with a white head that dissipates to to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of grass with earthy grains and a hint of earthy pine. Flavor is very similar with grass supposed by earthy grains and earthy pine.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden beer with a thinner white head on top. Aroma of grapefruit, oranges and herbal hoppyness. Flavor is mildly bitter, citrussy again and a bit dull overall. An enjoyable drink for sure, but not as fragrant or full flavored as I’d hoped. Carbonation is medium, aftertaste is short and light bitter.

Medium aroma of malts, caramel, fruit, hops and citrus.

Turbid golden/amber beer with a slight/medium off-white head.

Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel and fruit; ends slightly bitter and dry with hops and citrus.

This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. Super malty and fruity together with a soft palate, making it extremely drinkable and refreshing. Does nothing wrong, but never stands out at the same time.

Bottled on 19 Jan 2016. Fairly clear amber with small white head. Grassy and piney hop aromas, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, light caramel malt. The taste has a nice crusty bready malt, tangerine, passionfruit, pineapple, pine. Light bodied, good carbonation. Excellent pale ale.
