Bomber from Hayduke. We had it together via facebook chat. This poured hazy gold with a big almost white head. A citrus aroma with infection? After tasting I am still not sure about infection. It has plenty of citrus hops with lime. Late, some sulfur was tasted. By mid glass I have decided there is infection but it has not had time to fully dominate. It is band aid. The good news is that the beer is flavorful and interesting. For an ABV of 3.8 that is impressive. I like it. Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 23, 2013
In short: A slender citrusy and piney 3.8% APA that is surprisingly tasty. Good session beer.JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JAN 16, 2013
How: Bottle 22oz, consumed fresh soon after receiving the bottle from oakbluff, thanks Scott.
The look: Clear golden body topped by a small off-white head leaving good lacings on the glass.
In long: Nose is typical American citrusy hops, far from an aromatic hop bomb, but not timid either considering the size of the beer. Taste offers a slender body that doesn’t feel watery at all, a bit of residual sugars at first, then the citrusy hops aided with dry pine-tree and soapy notes lead to a moderately dry finish with mild bitterness. Long finish. Carbonation is soft which helps the slim body not feel too light. A pretty good beer that deserves a few extra points because it is only a 3.8% and you can drink gallons of it. I would normally be more impressed but not long ago I had a 3.5% Lawsons Three Penny Especiale and I know how a below 4% APA can kick some serious ass. This Alpha Session Ale is still a very good 3.8% beer. Another rating for me, and I haven’t rated any beer in quite a few days and still didn’t do anything productive… oh well, there goes that theory.
Bomber from K & L, Hollywood. Would that this were cheap and in sixers, it would be the ultimate. Nice vibrant orange pour, crisp and lively carbonation. Dry, understated hops in the nose with pert fruits. Citrus and grass more detectable as you get into the beer. Crisp, flavorful, and wonderfully balanced. So sumptuous and hoppy, hard to believe this is sub-4%. thetmaxx (917) - West Sacramento, California, USA - OCT 15, 2012
poured into a glass. wasn’t really in the mood for a session beer so that doesn’t make sense. Overall it was basicly a watered down IPA. Decent bitterness though. The hop character is hard to notice. Atheist_Peace (981) - Halifax, Nova Scotia, CANADA - SEP 24, 2012
22oz bottle. Yellow pour with a hint of something darker. little head but it leaves a good ring of lace. Quite a hoppy nose for such a lightweight beer. The classic pine and citrus with some soapy funk. Almost as nice on the palate but it’s missing a dimension somewhere. Still uber good shit for the low booze.

Big bottle from BevMo shared with Dad and Octo round Church Close. Streaming lager-gold with a loose white foam. Lychee, soapy citrus, sulphur and biscuit hints on the nose. Flavour floral and lemon zest hops backed with toast, stewed tea and biscuit. A fine take on a contemporary English GA.

Bottle, slightly hazy yellow-to-golden color, good foam though it doesn’t really cling to the glass. The aroma is floral in character with a light grain ale background. Taste follows smell, bright citrus and pale malt, with more emphasis on the bitterness from the hops. As advertised, a hoppy session ale with some bite, surprising flavor for 3.8% ABV. Faint aroma of biscuit. Cloudy, pale gold with no foam. Very simple and bland taste of bready malts and barley. Overall, nothing much to say about this. It’s very weak. Ratman197 (15105) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - SEP 6, 2012
Bomber poured a clear gold with a lingering ring of off white foam. Aromas of crackers, grapefruit, earthiness and lemon zest. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, grapefruit, earthiness and pine with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish. Ibrew2or3 (8743) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - SEP 1, 2012
22oz bomber pours crystal clear gold with somewhat weak white head. The aroma offers up tangelo and lime mixed with spicy dank hops and then a touch of sweet maltiness. Smells yummy. The taste is big on flavor and follows suit with grapefruit and tangelo and some lime mixing together with and even level of hop flavor and hop bitterness.3.8% ABV, what? Could that be right? Behind the hops is a wafer thin ring of malt sweetness. Great refreshing and yet bold flavored summer brew. Dandy!
