12oz bottle. Rating #112. Hazy dark amber pour with a huge tan head. Light sweetness and some caramel. Smooth, more caramel sweetness with a touch of toast. Not bad. (2072) MattH (876) - California, USA - OCT 23, 2011
Bottle. Dark amber pour with a big white head. Aroma of dark toasty malts and a little green apple. Taste is dark malts, a lot of bitterness, and some nuttiness. Body is light to medium and carbonation is medium to heavy. TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 14, 2011
Bottle (in NZ). Tawny in both colour and taste. A vinous note to the toasty malt, chocolate certainly, though also a little nuttiness. "Love the Drake"? Not quite. bb (9501) - Alamo, California, USA - JUL 7, 2011
Draft. Bronze beer with a cream colored head. Malt and light grapoefruit aroma with light pine. Malt and hoppy flavors with some treacle and earth backing. Medium bodied. Light PNW hops and malt linger with light earthiness. Good balance.mu11igan (133) - Davis, California, USA - DEC 23, 2010

Bottle. Ruby color with a nice beige head. Light nutty, slightly roasty aroma. Nutty flavor balanced with grassy hops and a bit of chocolate. Nothing outstanding, but a lot going on for an amber. Thanks Mike.
12oz bottle pours a dark brown body with a very thin tan head. Aroma is bready malt with some subtle caramel and chocolate notes. Flavors follows aroma, but also brings along much more hop character. Very nice, complex amber ale. The wife approves, as well.

Clear deep red with a creamy white head. Malty aroma and taste with some earthy caramel notes throughout. elihapa (1554) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - JUL 12, 2010
Bottle. Pours dark copper and red. Aroma features a powerful waft of caramel, toffee, ripe plum, ripe orange. Perfect creamy, medium-body mouthfeel. Flavor follows suit, with blasts of fruit-forward hops, pronounced toasted caramel and toffee candy, a bit of earthy minerality, strong flavor finish with bitter undertones. Hoppy, malty, robust, satisfying for the style. As my friend affectionately noted, this is “an amber for beer geeks.” Barreras (1689) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - MAY 31, 2010
Pours a deep dark brown typical of brown ales. Aroma of chocolate and roasted nuts. Taste leaves you with a mouthful, very distinct chocolate in the taste with a rich bitter finish. A very bitter aftertaste for an amber ale. Overall, a decent beer. shp555 (2024) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JAN 22, 2010
Pours an amber color with a tan head. Aroma is malty caramel, toast,
and some aged citrus hops. Flavor is malty, toasty, crystal malts, and
a slightly bitter citrus finish. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - DEC 27, 2009
Pours dark amber with a nice khaki head. Aroma is fruity with minerals. A bit metallic. The flavor is fairly sweet with some dark fruit, bread, and a mildly spiced hop finish. Full bodied for an amber ale.
