On tap at Pete’s Brass Rail and Carwash in Danville, CA. It pours gold with thin white head. The aroma is sweet with malts and has a hint of noble hops. The taste is mild and doesn’t come off overly sweet. I get sweet malts balanced somewhat with grainy malts. There’s also a pale maltiness mixed in there too. Bottled. Poured clear reddish-brown with a short-lived cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up a hefty dose of lightly-aged caramels, a great blend of mixed chocolates, herbal, and drier floral hoppage.. I can’t think of anything that I’d rather have from my Amber Ale. The flavor for the most part held serve.. toasty caramel and chocolate at the core with supple pine and floral bitterness extending outward.. sweet finish, and well-balanced with its bitterness. Pretty close to medium-bodied with great flow on the palate.. left a refreshing, lightly-bitter finish. Well done! ABUSEDGOAT (2830) - California, USA - SEP 9, 2007
Hazy darker amber, moderate head, decent lacing and retention. Aroma is English style, cool. Caramel, wood, with fruity hops, higher level of alcohol than usual. Sweet aroma, medium to light body and finishes slightly sweet as well. Some alcohol in the finish though. A cool take on the style, but I would have preferred a cleaner (no alcohol) finish with more hop flavor. dwyerpg (6378) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - AUG 22, 2007
Excellent aroms. Hops, piny and molassess. I like this. Thick and hoppy in the back, it has a nice but wierd balance of malts and hops. Just a little thin at times though. badbeer (434) - Iowa, USA - AUG 18, 2007
Clear amber color with an offwhite head that retains very well and leaves good lacing. Smell is fairly hoppy; pine and some caramel notes come through. Taste begins a little grassy from the hops, but then gives you more toasty caramel flavors with some pine sap at the finish. Fairly high carbonation with a medium body, fairly slick on the tongue. I got this in a trade a little while back, so maybe it was a little old, but either way, this was a pretty decent beer.

Aroma is grassy hops, caramel, toffee, and a little bit of roastiness. Complex aroma for an amber. Pours a hazy dark amber with nice head retention throughout the life of the beer. Flavor is nice mild bitter grassy hops, caramel, and some nice roast sweetness. This is a surprisingly complex amber ale. It finishes with a little citrus and a pleasant sweetness. oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUL 31, 2007
Bottled (5.9%) (thanks Stoutlover72). Hazy reddish brown colour with mediumsized creamy, thick, beige head. Aroma is malty as very as very sweet fruity. Flavour is surprisingy dry malty and toasted, also the fruity hops comes along making this a wellbalanced beer. Strong lemony notes in the aftertaste along with slight roast. Bottle courtesy of the very generous aspidites! Thanks Mike! Poured a nice amber color with a beautiful creamy head. Smelled like malts and apples. Taste was sweet malts, citrus, and caramel. I enjoyed this one. Very drinkable. puzzl (3260) - New York, New York, USA - JUL 1, 2007
Slightly floral, citrus nose, a little lemon. Hops in the flavor are prevalent but there is a decent chocolatiness that is pretty nice. A little hard to put down, but a well balanced beer. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 29, 2007
12 oz bottle. Pours a clear deep amber colored body under a fizzy and fluffy beige head that left lots of sticky lacing. Nice lightly sweet smelling toasted malt nose with some light floral hops and a touch of toffee. The flavor is dry toasted and slightly nutty malt with a light hoppy finish. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with a slightly grainy finish and moderate fizzy carbonation. All around, a pretty nice beer. Alot of character and flavor for a typically boring style.
