(Bottle) Pours a lightly cloudy dark amber body with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma of nuts, toasted malt, citrus, and caramel. Flavor of toasted malt, hops, and cocoa. A complex and well crafted amber. hopdog (12555) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 7, 2005
Bottle acquired in trade with DarkElf. Poured a dark and cloudy amber color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of oranges, citrus, and caramel. Caramel malts dominate the tastes with the hops noticeably lurking in the background. Sweet start with a light bitter finish. slowrunner77 (12044) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 5, 2014
"typical or slightly darker thn avg for the style. fresher and better balanced than others, with a lean towards the malty side. some nuts & toffee in the aroma, toasted malt flavor. "

Bottled. Amber coloured. Unclear. Dense light brown head. Sweet and light grassy aroma. Is a bit bland iMO. Fruits and light sweetness with some vague herbal notes in the flavour. Medium bodied. Light dry. Vague bitter and light medical end. marcus (10227) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 1, 2006
On tap at Drake’s. This dark brown ale poured with a nice off-white head. The flavor is very hoppy with a carbonated mouthfeel. Better than most ambers I have tried.

Deep amber colour, white head. Sweet biscuity aroma. Loads of diacetyl and oxidized caramelly malts as well. Hops are quite stale as well, but what are left are earthy and lightly fruity. Flavour is very buttery with some orangey hops. Decent bitterness but that’s about all it’s got going for it. bb (9268) - Alamo, California, USA - JUL 7, 2011
Draft. Bronze beer with a cream colored head. Malt and light grapoefruit aroma with light pine. Malt and hoppy flavors with some treacle and earth backing. Medium bodied. Light PNW hops and malt linger with light earthiness. Good balance.DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - JUL 10, 2009

Bottle. Ruby color with a nice beige head. Light nutty, slightly roasty aroma. Nutty flavor balanced with grassy hops and a bit of chocolate. Nothing outstanding, but a lot going on for an amber. Thanks Mike.

Slightly rich malt aroma. Golden coloured hoppy and a little spicy with some bitterness in a crisp malt finish. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - NOV 1, 2007
On tap at Pete’s Brass Rail and Carwash in Danville, CA. It pours gold with thin white head. The aroma is sweet with malts and has a hint of noble hops. The taste is mild and doesn’t come off overly sweet. I get sweet malts balanced somewhat with grainy malts. There’s also a pale maltiness mixed in there too. drfabulous (7945) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - SEP 16, 2006
Interesting amber. True to its description, it has a slight chocolate taste. Very different from other ambers I’ve had.
