3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap. Slight white head dissolving quickly to a thin covering over a pilsner-colored body darkend by bourbon barrel wood but clear. Aroma is bourbon, straw, chocolate, and cracked grain with pretzel in the mix. Taste is sour and salty. Palate is lively with effervescence rather quick in the finish. Overall, a good beer though rather forward with bourbon at only 6%. Kind of a Disneyland night on the town.
I’m not sure if I’ve had a successful experience with a ’bourbon and sour’ combo beer. This one has malt vinegar notes, wood, slight fruit salad esters, boozy caramel and a thin body. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - DEC 26, 2012
On tap. Pours with a hazed deep brown body. Small tan ring. Aromas are sour, currants, dark fruits, barrel, acetic acid, medium esters, balsamic vinegar, medium malt. Flavors show some malt, light funk, woody, medium to medium low acid (some acetic), barrel, strong tannin, raisins, currants, balsamic, brown sugar. Very tannic mouthfeel with lively carbonation, medium bodied, dry finish. bb (9621) - Alamo, California, USA - MAY 3, 2012
Dratf. Amber beer with a whitish head. Tart and yeasty aroma with light bourbon. Yeast and bourbon flavor with malt and light tartness. Medium bodied. Yeast and tartness lingers with bourbon and light brown sugar. marcus (10466) - Sacramento, California, USA - APR 27, 2012
On tap at Drakes Barrel House. Pours dirty blonde with a decent off-white head and a fruity aroma. There is a moderately sour malt flavor that leaves bourbon on the palate. Not a typical Belgian Singel, yet pretty tasty.

Pours attractive bright golden with a finger thick off white head. Full nose of sweet malt and yeast with a faint vanilla influence. A bit more bourbon on the flavor with sweet fruits as well. Medium full mouthfeel.
