"For what this is rumored to be (a barreled blend of IRS an scotch ale) it’s not as good as I’d expect. Nice enough, mind you, but waaaaaaay down the list of awesomeness at the Stone 16 partay. A bit tart on the nose and a hint of vinegar in the flavor. Not off putting at all, but I’d have prefreed a cleaner barreling for this style of beer. Big and smooth...flavors of the base beers a little mashed together on this one..."

Tap: dark brown thin khaki head. Aroma is toffee, vanilla, and whiskey. Flavor is tart with some cherry, vanilla, bourbon, toffee, and some alcohol notes. Palate is oily with a light tartness but mostly sweet and finishes with big alcohol warmth. Overall an interesting beer with a lot of flavors that do not mesh completely. barn0216 (545) - California, USA - OCT 13, 2012
