Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of hops and roasted malt, lending it a slight acidity. The flavor is sweet with and acidic edge from the roasted malt, which combines with notes of hops and horseblanket and leads into a dry and slightly tart finish.

I didn’t care for this as much as the "its Fity" and the other ratings appear to bear out this reaction. You get some nice qualities but a blend that makes it something different from what you’re expecting. On tap at Drakes, RBSG2009.

Draught at the brewery during the RBSG09 tasting. Black with a tan head. Cherry, alcohol and somewhat funky aroma. Chocolate, wood, and light funky tartness in the flavor. An odd beer that i wasn’t really sure what to make of, though I kinda liked it.

Gypsy19 (726) - California, USA - JUL 17, 2009
Tap at Drake’s, RBSG Grand Tasting. Pours dark brownish-black with just a little swirly foam on top. Aroma is of blackberry and a little coffee liqueur. Flavor is of dark fruits, rum, and a little coffee, with an acidic finish. Mouthfeel is a little watery for an impy. Overall, good.

IrishBoy (4237) - Bakersfield, California, USA - JUL 15, 2009
Draft at RBSG Grand Tasting! Nose of chocolate, coffee, and smokiness. Black with a small tan head. Flavor was big coffee, chocolate, with a touch of smoke and a background tart hint!
