4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Got this one in a trade thanks to Bytemesis. Pours amber with a small off white head. Smells strongly of pine and caramel. Taste is is sweet up front with a nice bitter backbone. It has average carbonation and a medium body. Pretty much exactly what I would expect from this style, good example of a west coast strong ale.
Not a great red, but interesting. Pours a beautiful deep red with a thick tan head. Smells slightly of strawberries. Taste is strange, starts a bit fruity but then devolves to a quite strange hitter, slightly sour aftertaste. MrHangover (4693) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - JAN 6, 2014
Bottle, thnx to bytemesis, shared with the tasting crew. Pours a clear amber beer with a big, off white head on top. Aroma has some West Coast hoppiness in there, citric, grapefruit. Touch of coffee and caramel in the background. Nice, quite complex aroma. Flavor is quite bitter, light alcoholic and has some darker chocolate notes combined with bitter citric influences. Soft moutfheel, very easy drinkable and an overall quite nice beer. Nice one! worldbeertaste (1819) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - JAN 5, 2014
Medium brown with a slight red tint, and a white, frothy, lacy, lasting, tan head. Smells of nice herbal hops, fresh zest, and pineapple. Medium frothy oily body. Tastes of sweet caramel with a background of strong pineapple hops and citrus. The finish is of nice and leaves some lasting dry happiness in the mouth. kermis (14999) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JAN 5, 2014

Flavor is moderate sweet and over moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. jmgreenuk (10386) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - JAN 5, 2014
Bottle courtesy of MrHangover. Poured a clear dark amber with a thin bubbly white head. The aroma is hoppy malt liqourice. The flavour is strong bitter with a smooth slightly watery big hop liqourice aniseed palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and a long bitter finish.

Bottle shared thanks to mrhangover. Pours clear amber reddish with a beige head. Aroma is hops, malts, caramel, yeast, red fruits, hay and some cardboard. Full bodied. Moderate long finish. daknole (11048) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - NOV 24, 2013
Amber pour, off white head. This is really well balanced and reminds me of a hybrid of an American and English barleywine. Sweet malts and resinous hops. The flavors meld well together. beertholomeus (1814) - California, USA - NOV 18, 2013
Pours a burnt amber color with a thick off white head. Hop, caramel, toffee, pine and malt aroma. Hop, caramel, pine, bread, toffee, honey and malt flavors. Medium body with a bread like mouth feel with a slight bitterness. Caramel and hop finish. GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 14, 2013
Tap at Salted Pig, Riverside CA. Clear, deep red pour with solid rocky foam and good lacing. Nose is quite hoppy, in the India red ale/Imperial red ale vain. Taste is softer than expected, mild pine resin and sticky malt, somewhat dusty and bitter. Overall a pretty straightforward India red ale. Ibrew2or3 (8913) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - NOV 4, 2013
22oz bottle pours with an amber to copper body that supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up nice levels of pine hops along with some malts and roasted malts. Pretty nice. The taste is similar and delivers a rich smooth deep pine hoppiness mixed with thick malts and some roasted malts. It starts with the malt smoothness and pine hop flavor and grows into resiny pine hop bitterness and thin rings of roasted malts. Love it. Smooth rich integrated.
