Pours a beautiful, nearly glowing clear orange amber. The off-white head doesn’t stick around long, but who cares, because the bouquet is spectacular. Vibrant sweet grapefruit and soft pine that invades the olfactory and dances there like a nice perfume. There’s a surprising amount of grain in the flavor given the bouquet. Smooth on the front and a little scrubby on the back. Big pine and sweet, dried fruit. A pretty noticeable alcohol warmth. A very nice DIPA.

Draft. Medium amber pour, with a white head. Caramel malt, citrus, bitter hops, sweet, and malty. A well balanced DIPA, and tasty. Not the best around though.

Bottle shipped: pours clear light orange, off white mild head. What an appetizing nose. pungent citrus tangerine, mango, pine, resinous dank hops with some subtle caramel malts on the nose. Medium to heavier bodied yet silky smooth on the palate. Lots of mango, resin hop flavors and just enough pale and caramel malt sweetness for balance. Not overly bitter and succinct finish. ABV well hidden. What a great beer. Can I get more without ordering from the west coast...? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thank you to AlexS for this 22 oz. bottle. Beer poured a mildly cloudy copper/amber with little head, scarcely a finger, which dissipates fast. Nose was dominated by citrus (grapefruit and pineapple) but also pine and some grassy notes. Caramel malts balance this well and there is little alcohol burn, especially for this big of a beer. The mild bitterness up front does not overpower what else goes on with this and does not linger after. The texture is medium and as well as the carbonation. All-in-all, this is a very nicely balanced DIPA that I absolutely recommend and wish I had more access to. Try it, if you can!

22 oz bottle. Clearish orange brown with an ivory foam cap. Nose is caramel, orange juice, female pheromones and pine. Oddly similar to the Lower de Boom i just tried, this one no where near as coarse or unbalanced and of course a DIPA. Starts with a bitter blast; resiny with brisk carb, lightly sticky. Taste is pine needles, caramel, candied orange peel and apple with a menthol finish. Great fruity, hop; bitter, sweet balance.

22oz bottle picked up at Bevmo in Vacaville
Appearance: Pours clear golden with a small white head, some lacing
Aroma: Fruity and sweet caramel
Taste: Sweet caramel, dusty, grapefruit and pine resin
A decent DIPA, sweet.

Good stuff. Smooth and not very bitter. Good stuff. Slight citrius. decent amount of malt to balance it out.

mcberko (18977) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 15, 2013
On tap at Mohawk Bend, pours a hazy golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma is divine, full of truckloads of resinous hops, pine, and caramel malts to balance. Flavour is the same, so flavourful, full of resinous hops, and just enough caramel malt backing. No astringency but beautifully hoppy. Amazing stuff.

Ed5388 (3488) - Forked River, New Jersey, USA - MAR 14, 2013
Pours a straw orange with nice fluffy white head. Nose of tropical fruit & dank hops. Taste is very clean. Big hops, crisp tropical fruit juice, tangerine, grapefruit, finishes pine and grapefruit rind with a nice touch of citrus sweetness.

mjg74 (3182) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAR 13, 2013
Bomber from BevMo. Syrupy thick looking on the pour. Color is opaque golden/orange. Nose is sweet and quite hoppy. Solid hop goodness up front. Some citrus with a good deal of balance. Bitter and very tasty.
